They look uncomfortable but more power to anyone who wants them. Don’t see any problem with this at all.

LaLoba · 09/08/2022 13:18

Agree with PPs, breaking the stereotypes of clothing is all good for me. As a runner and a cyclist with the calf muscles to show for it, that’s actually quite a good representation of what I’d look like in them in my manly size 8s.

fishingpaintings · 09/08/2022 13:18

Happy for more people to understand and experience the discomfort of heels tbh..

Pithy and true.

I have two issues (and these are my only issues)

  1. the bottom of the heel is too small for heavier people and will likely damage certain types of flooring &
  2. I don't like the upskirt angle of one of the shots.

Oh wow, yay! As a woman with size 9 feet who struggles to buy womens shoes looks like I can get them from ASOS mens section now.

They have some niceish sandles that have a more feminine look but in big sizes.

KittenKong · 09/08/2022 13:27

My god they are ugly!

MarshaMelrose · 09/08/2022 13:28

He looks like he's got nice legs. I don't blame him for showing them off. Nothing wrong with men getting a bit of a height lift.
Love you Tom. ❤

Googlecanthelpme · 09/08/2022 13:34

The fact that it’s in the men section is good right? ASOS is very much on the wagon and has been for years, so it doesn’t surprise me at all.

Im pleased that the target audience is men and it’s in the mens section rather than pics of men in the boots in the womens section. Although I do think if they’re making womens shoes in larger sizes they should also be linked in the womens section so that when a woman with size 8/9+ feet searches on size, she can see the full range.

RooniIWazlib · 09/08/2022 13:41

They look "cheap" for £72.

Misses OPs point

Butteryflakycrust83 · 09/08/2022 13:58

Looks fantastic!

Festoonlights · 09/08/2022 14:04

That’s dhs Christmas present sorted then! 😂

achillestoes · 09/08/2022 14:15

As a look, I find it a bit aggressive. But then I feel like that about black heeled boots anyway (just a matter of personal taste). But if some men want to wear them let them have at it.

Krustykrabpizza · 09/08/2022 14:17

This is good surely? If people were more comfortable just wearing what they wanted then they might not feel the need to change gender

Twattergy · 09/08/2022 14:19

Mem need to know that type of heel is a BASTARD to walk in.
But good luck to em.

JellySaurus · 09/08/2022 14:23

'Men's sizes' is relevant. Shoes designed for men have a different shape than the equivalent size designed for women. Wider heel and toe, and greater depth all round.

Brented · 09/08/2022 14:24

Are you going to come back and tell us what you think the problem is, or are you trying to troll, in which case it’s completely backfired on you.

BootsAndRoots · 09/08/2022 14:30

Men's sizes is the correct term as Size 8 in Women's shoe sizing does not equal Size 8 in Men's shoe sizing. I think Size 8 women's is equivalent to Size 6.5 in men's?

I was put off of buying Van's online (without trying them on) as it didn't seem clear what gender the sizing was in.

That's true for US shoe sizing, but UK shoe sizing is the same for both sexes.

Although you do get the occasional brand of eg. hiking boots which will try to fit common female foot shapes, rather than just using a basic men's foot and scaling it down.

timeisnotaline · 09/08/2022 14:47

This is ok surely? I’m all for them putting typically masculine men in heels. Although I don’t think many men would get far on those thin heels this is ok - www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-heeled-boots-in-black-faux-leather-with-gold-chain-detail/prd/202686960?ctaref=we+recommend+grid_3&featureref1=we+recommend+pers

KittenKong · 09/08/2022 14:49

I wonder how a grown man would get on with pointy shoes like that?

By the time I was his age I’d have a few years practice in heels and points. His feet will be killing him and he will most likely walk like a gorilla (again, no practice).

oh well, to each his/hee own…

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 09/08/2022 14:55

Men can wear heels if they like. Doesn't make them women, but clothes are clothes, heels aren't reserved for women in the same way that trousers aren't reserved for men.

Do you have an issue with Slade and Glam Rock too or just ASOS?

ArcticSkewer · 09/08/2022 14:57

yup i am also pleased to find this out!

DoubleShotEspresso · 09/08/2022 15:01

CompleteGinasaur · 09/08/2022 12:27

Only sold in men's sizes (6 - 12), and already mostly sold out.. Either a market tester, or any publicity is good publicity?

I thought this too
