80 year old woman banned from pool for standing up for little girls

This poor woman dedicated her life to defending women and girls. She heard a male voice while in the shower at her local pool, looked out and saw a TW changing near 4 or 5 little girls while staring at them. She stepped in, asked if the TW had a penis, and got banned and the pool staff threatened to call police on her. They lied and said she said all kinds of profane things. This is so disgusting. I feel so bad for her.

They obviously were not flashing their genitals or it would not have been necessary for this woman to ask what their genitals were.

The only answer to this is, 'so what?'

It doesn't matter at all whether this person was 'flashing their genitals'.

This was a male supervising small girls getting changed in a female changing room.

If they were 'flashing their genitals', would that make it clearer for you that it is a problem? Or can the privacy, and dignity of small girls to not be watched by someone from the opposite sex be enough?

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 25/08/2022 16:05

Interesting. Of the "you're all bigots " posters I don't think one has presented a convincing argument as to why the presence of this male so close to young kids changing, is acceptable.

ArabellaScott · 25/08/2022 16:09

What is the argument? Males are free to stand and stare at little girls changing? It's bigoted to question why a male is staring at children?

I think most of us recognise the dynamic, here.

334bu · 25/08/2022 16:21

Also standing in area where naked women are showering. Why would anybody think it was acceptable for a male person to be in such an area?

Helleofabore · 02/07/2025 09:58

Julie Jamon update.

Julie has won a court case to lift her ban from the centre! Well done Julie!

There seems a pattern forming consistently. Women winning court cases to enact change is wasted effort though. We should not be in this situation. But at least it is getting clearer and clearer.

Thank you for bringing the good news, Helleofabore, and well done to this brave and resilient woman who had to wait for three years to get justice.

Beowulfa · 02/07/2025 10:23

Looking forward to our resident scolders explaining why this is all wrong and actually it's Julie's fault for being an awful bigot.

StellaAndCrow · 02/07/2025 10:26

Thank you for sharing this - I'm still just as angry reading back the start of the thread and all the usual TRA arguments.

Wetoldyousaurus · 02/07/2025 10:41

Yes this story gets me every time. Definitely one for peaking. But apparently Ys in California are rife with this stuff. Women and girls no longer have places to change in many of them as men have taken over their change rooms. It seems women there are living with this in whatever ways they can. Either self excluding or accepting lack of privacy from men when getting changed as inevitable.

Helleofabore · 02/07/2025 10:44

It is remarkable that she had to do this. But what a win for girls and women that she did!!

Datun · 02/07/2025 10:48

Bloody hell, I'm glad to hear that. And that she persevered. Tells you all you need to know about her defence of women.

Thank goodness.

And yes, reading a few of the first comments on this thread shows us how far we've come.

Although we should never have had to place defend it in the first place. But even transactivists cannot deny the tidal wave of paedophiles and perverts attracted to this ideology

Bobbymoore123 · 02/07/2025 10:56

What a win for all women, I've been inspired! Next time I'm in the changing room I'm going to go round asking everyone there in the changing room whether they have a penis. Of course I'll need proof from anybody who says no or else what would be the point in asking? 🤢

Apologies that would be gross and weird, as a regular terf I'll actually just be asking the people who don't conform to my sense of what a woman should look like.

You clearly don't know that females are hardwired since caveman era for our survival, to spot a male, right?

Helleofabore · 02/07/2025 12:19

I find it interesting that we have posters who are so determined to ignore that female people have a high likelihood of correctly identifying the sex of a male person, that they will use examples where female people have correctly identified the sex of a male person as an opportunity to shame them.

We have seen it in sports regularly. Where some posters have doubled down to shame others when those other posters have actually correctly identified a male person's sex class.

It is not 'what a woman should look like.'

It is that a female person does not have male body cues that humans perceive very easily and usually accurately. But apparently, this is a forgotten skill or one to be dismissed because to correctly identify the sex of a male person requires judging the person's body cues. And this is apparently not kind or acceptable.

So female people should just lower their boundaries and not react to someone they can correct identify as being a male person in a female single sex space, because to some people, that is 'gross' and 'weird' and apparently inappropriate.

They do generally seem to be quiet these days. Come on @DadJoke, what’s your take on this?

Well let's hope that if you see a male in the female changing rooms staring at little girls while they undress you will do something, eh Bobby?

No. From that post, I think we can safely assume that they will not.

Because they fully believe that people cannot correctly identify a person's sex through observing body cues such as skeleton, hip alignment and the corresponding knee alignment, and skull shape and facial structure.

It is all dismissed with a 'what should a woman look like'. I think that type of argument can be considered determined ignorance at this point.

If I'm out and about sometimes I'll sit for a while in town just people watching.

My eyesight is crap these days, definitely need to make an opticians appointment, but even so I'll watch people way way off in the distance and think that's a woman, that's a man. And once they are close enough to come into focus I'm always correct.

I watched two people the other week, same height both seemed to be wearing same coloured trousers and a similar coat, both short hair etc. I'd guessed woman in the left, man on the right.

When they got close enough presentation wise there was nothing to tell them apart, they were both wearing completely identical clothes, same trainers, same jeans, same coat. Same haircut, same 5ft 6" height and build. And they were very obviously a woman on the left and a man on the right. (And as an aside I'd bet good money they'd been married 40+ years to each other!)

I don't understand why some people try to claim humans can't correctly sex other humans.

And I'm sure there will be people who will still try the "but you don't know you were correct" .

At which point all I've got in response these days is a heavy sigh, a shake of my head and to look at them in a way that conveys "you really are quite a stupid individual aren't you?" .

Unlikely, more probable that they'd be the ones doing the staring.

WithSilverBells · 02/07/2025 13:19

@Boiledbeetle I did similar last week. Sat in the bike park cafe after a spot of mountain biking and watched riders ride away from me on the circuit and then circle back towards me. So from behind, looking at people doing an identical activity and dressed in the usual unisex bikers' clothing I 'guessed' their sex and then checked as they circled back and I could see their faces. I correctly sexed them every time.
Bit of an odd way to pass the time, I admit, but I thought it was worth testing out the 'you can't always tell' theory while I supped my flat white.

You only had to wait 33 minutes for the facile wittering to appear in favour of men helicoptering their dicks at women and women shutting up and taking it like good girls. Now that's what I call service.

TheOtherRaven · 02/07/2025 13:32

Quick service announcement to other women - you're absolutely welcome to question at any time what sex I am, as a lesbian I am fine with that and happy to reassure you in the aim of women's legal protections and equalities, and keeping the men the fuck out. Ask away.

Grammarnut · 02/07/2025 13:34

JenniferBarkley · 05/08/2022 06:38

Asking a stranger about their genitalia will get you banned from most respectable establishments.

If she was worried the woman was watching the children get changed, she should have challenged that, and told the staff.

By voice he was a man and it emerges that he has recently come out as trans - since trans doesn't exist that means he is a man (and transwoman = man, it's says it on the T-shirt) . What was he doing watching little girls get changed? I am a woman and I wouldn't do that!
Fwiw - and I hope I am never in such a situation - I'd have asked why he was watching the little girls and reported that a transwoman was doing this - subverting the YMCA's nasty protocols for them.
The US is so captured by this utter nonsense.

Wh6 are you obsessed with other people's genitals?

Males without a penis are not allowed in female spaces either.

DameHelena · 02/07/2025 13:59

Great news! Well done Julie Jamon, and thank you Helleofabore for posting.
