I saw India Willoughby post on twitter about a user called "mimikyu" saying they were a GP with a trans patient they wanted to avoid giving hormones to. I searched and can't find anything by a poster called mimikyu, so did it happen or has it been deleted?

It was deleted because clearly it was a setup.

It's amazing that IW saw it given that it lasted such a short time, almost as if someone created it and then circulated a link to interested parties.

It was deleted because the poster was clearly trying to set up women to say something controversial. Who knows, the OP in that thread might even have been a journalist looking for a story.

Thanks. I agree it sounds like a set up. Especially as some of the people in comments reckon mimikyu is a bit of a trans symbol (I do like pokemon and didn't know this)

Yes a doctor who has name changed to a Pokémon, saying it's a good job that their patients have a long waiting list, and then earnestly asking a parenting site to advise whether or not they can withhold medication?

I posted on it pointing out that a GP should not be using their personal beliefs as a basis for anyone's medical treatment - and then saw the twitter post and realised what was happening.

Of course, we talk about a doctor's surgery or a GP practice. But American keyboard warriors don’t know this. In America they do talk about “the doctor’s office”. So tediously predictable.

It's also a testament to the lack of critical thought that even though most of Willoughby's supporters think it's a set up, they still don't realise that one of them has done it. (Hint - we reported it and got it deleted).

They're not even asking themselves why gender critical women would fake a post to screenshot as a gotcha over gender critical views.

Mimikyu is a pokemon - it looks like a creepy version of pikachu, it copies pikachu's appearance because it wants to be pikachu yet in the cartoon it hates pikachu.
