Things are becoming weirder and weirder.

The venue said “we believe in diverse voices” but evidently they really don’t.

Apparently people are cross (to the point of attacking him) because he said trans people are confusing.

I mean, other than forgetting about C-sections, he's not wrong.

Gender is a fact. Every human being in this room, every human being on Earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on Earth. This is a fact

Yeah I noticed this too. I was from my mother’s womb untimely ripped, Dave!

@lovelyweathertoday - if women had complained about sexism, they would have been laughed at and told to f* off. Because: women.

Well exactly. And women don't bother getting this kind of thing cancelled. Which I'm OK with, freedom of speech etc. I don't have to like it.

I do think it is a tad racist to suggest that the venue is unsafe if a black man gets on stage and says his choice of words.

Totally agree...the irony though is lost on them.

I am increasingly finding racism only exists when you are black and also happen to say and believe all the right things.

If you don't, then suddenly it's alright to be discriminatory.

There's nothing in the statement about his skin colour, posters here just doing what they always do when there's a black person who has GC views, using their skin colour as a sign of victimisation

Black comedian Dave Chapelle
Black prime ministerial candidate Kemi Badenoch
Black lesbian Allison Bailey

But it's denial when it comes to dealing with the real racism that sadly comes up on this board too often.

We see you.

So you want us not to say that black people are black, while you are calling us racist?
Are you quite well?

I do personally think the terms 'black' as well as 'white' in themselves isn't helpful for describing whole groups of people with different cultural and language roots and backgrounds, but that's a different topic not related to this thread.

They mentioned his diversity. If it isn't being black, how was this comedian diverse?

This question has been asked several times. With no answer yet. So yes, another one here waiting to hear.

We see you? Right back at ya.

Bit weird how he’s getting props on here just for saying the ‘right’ mantra about gender when the rest of his act he’ll be referring to us as bitches and ho’s.

Perhaps but no one gets cancelled for they carry on, do they? It's the sacred caste thing again

I understood the venue to be referencing diversity in opinion - which is why is seemed so bonkers. I obviously misunderstood. I really didn’t think race had anything to do with this.

As opposed to the racism of the TRA who state black womxn are only women if we include males? Classic TRA lazy everyday racism right there. Why not pop off and discuss casual racism with them.

@Conflictedunicorn I was addressing my remark to Clovefeld and her performative virtue signalling bollocks, which many of us none white people despair of (and increasingly find is making our lives harder).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/07/2022 14:02

At the relocated gig Chappelle said he understood the venue's decision as the children of staff members had been threatened.

That's appalling. I also saw a tweet by people who had filmed one of the senior staff of the original theatre going into the show in its new location trying to start a pile on on this woman.

Perhaps it’s his phallocentric take on things: act of creation, rather than delivery. 😉
