The venue said “we believe in diverse voices” but evidently they really don’t.

Apparently people are cross (to the point of attacking him) because he said trans people are confusing.

At the relocated gig Chappelle said he understood the venue's decision as the children of staff members had been threatened.

Its the simpering apology by the theatre that irks me the most.

What they should have said is 'trans activists are threatening the staff and their children so we are left with no other option than to cancel the show. we have reported the threats to the police as a hate crime for hosting a diverse comedian'.

Not made out that hosting a black comedian was unsafe by virtue of his diversity, but that trans activists were making it unsafe.

They chose those words. We get told that if there are threats then to report them, so if there were threats surely there will be receipts to pass onto the police?

The TRA petition on change.org mentioned in some of the news reports managed to get a whole 128 signatures (after being mentioned in loads of papers) although it only had around 120 when the theatre took it seriously.

Wish all it took was 128 signatures to get anyone to listen to women.
