Says Angela raynor twitter.com/lbc/status/1549000583742455809?s=21&t=qgvRnVgFhJgygk_b4Qxg2w

so that’s “mens rights are Women’s then”’

She’s either stupid or duplicitous but either way Labour can’t be trusted with Women’s rights

OP posts:
mumda · 18/07/2022 16:39

AR can accept there is genuine concern over women only space.
She should have stopped there.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/07/2022 16:40

She can't be stupid to have got to the position she's in.

But it's all the worse when people who aren't stupid say stupid things.

Wouldloveanother · 18/07/2022 16:41

When the majority of women’s rights are centred around our biological and bodily needs, how CAN transwomen’s rights be women’s rights? 🤨

terryleather · 18/07/2022 16:59

Dear Angela

Stop pissing down my back and telling me it's raining.

Love terry x

FigRollsAlly · 18/07/2022 17:06

It’s just so dishonest, trying to get away with meaningless catchphrases and weasel words whilst pretending there’s no clash of rights. Boris ultimately paid the price for his dishonesty and I hope Labour soon realise that the electorate are fed up with politicians who can’t be straight with them.

sorcerersapprentice · 18/07/2022 17:09

Oh no! She's one of my favourite politicians too. I'm really disappointed now
Have loved watching her tear strips off Boris

KittenKong · 18/07/2022 17:14

bellinisurge · 18/07/2022 15:43

She's an idiot. [whispers] Blah blah "single sex spaces are important [shouts] "most marginalised " "trust Labour " "all women's rights".

No. Thank. You.
Also
Get to fuck with that shite

Yup this.

Where have you been? She's been batshit mental on this issue for years.

SingingSands · 18/07/2022 17:18

Pushing the agenda onto women again. So tired of everything being for women to sort out whilst the men sit back and watch and remain unaffected. Shove off Raynor.

This has been her position for a long time. She was also a big fan of lily madigan.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 18/07/2022 17:22

When the majority of women’s rights are centred around our biological and bodily needs, how CAN transwomen’s rights be women’s rights?

Same rights for different reasons.

Female people need these rights to mitigate the biological consequences of being female-bodied and the social consequences of being female-bodied in a society organised around male norms.

Trans women need them as public confirmation of their status as women.

The problem that needs to be faced by those who support the latter purpose is that it undermines the former.

Empowermenomore · 18/07/2022 17:25

I’m fed up with Labour qualifying women’s concerns as scaremongering. Angela said it too.

My MP repeats this to infinite when I sent my concerns. He wants to educate me and dispel my misunderstanding! I have gone from reasonable debate (although little engagement on their part) to consider them b***ds too happy to throw me and any inconvenient woman under the bus!

donquixotedelamancha · 18/07/2022 17:27

Can you imagine them saying disabled rights are also gay rights or employment rights are animal rights?

It's just so fucking stupid.

You’ll love video then, it really gets to the heart of her intellect and ethics.

Drivebye · 18/07/2022 17:28

That trans woman that called in was typical of the 'we are literally scared to death to go on twitter' and 'everyone attacks us'. This person also made reference to Rosie Duffield being transphobic.

Radnor should have called this person out and stood up for Rosie instead she showed her true colours, womens rights are at the bottom of the pile. It's clear she supports self
Id.

Many people have been saying that this issue is such a non issue. The fact it continues to be in the news and a big part of the current Tory leadership race shows it is important. I just wish that the media were clearer on what it all means, there's still a lot of 'stunning and brave' going on.

ThinkingaboutLangClegosaurus · 18/07/2022 17:50

Madamecastafiore · 18/07/2022 16:01

The sad thing is that the more they spout this utter bullshit the less charitable I feel. I was all for yes trans women are trans women (not women), now I'm more, like fuck are they, they're men.

I've taken the same journey. I used to think men dressing as women were breaking down gender stereotypes, and that was great (as long as they didn't gatecrash women's spaces, obviously). And maybe that was true back in the day.

But now it's about enforcing gender stereotypes. And like MadameCastafiore, I'm no longer going to 'be kind' to people who show no respect for women.

Namerchangerextraordinaire · 18/07/2022 17:54

No thank you.

They have nothing to do with women or womens rights.
They have no place & should have no voice in anything to do with the opposite sex.

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 18/07/2022 17:56

I wish politicians who do believe, for whatever reason, that TWAW, are as vocal when TW do use the removal of SSE to abuse women and girls.

They tend to go oddly quiet. Or pretend that's what women do now

Tania64 · 18/07/2022 18:02

Perhaps Rayner would like to explain how a 'woman' can impregnate another woman!

Floisme · 18/07/2022 18:05

This kind of thing doesn't annoy me as much as it used to, and equally I don't get as excited any more when a Labour politician says something half sensible on the subject. I'm just going to wait and see what their next manifesto says. If Labour don't want my vote any more that's up to them.

heathspeedwell · 18/07/2022 19:56

It breaks my heart.

AyeUpMeDuck · 18/07/2022 19:58

They're basically saying,
Males rights are women's rights.

MarshaBradyo · 18/07/2022 19:59

What an idiot

achillestoes · 18/07/2022 20:05

I actually just want to shake all of them. Most GC people would feel nothing but compassion for trans people and their experiences if only a common sense position was adopted. Stop the aggressive colonising, stop targeting children with anti-science and political extremism, respect free speech, and everything will be fine. But at the moment things aren’t going to be fine. In the US, the Democrats are going to get rinsed at the next election (Biden being a hundred years old and the conservative states going into meltdown about transition). That is going to enable a legislative backlash against childhood transition, males in female sports, the use of female spaces for both sexes, pronouns and then - in the end - it’s going to mean less tolerance.

And they’re doing it to themselves.

Rightsraptor · 18/07/2022 20:18

Whatever Angela's IQ may be, as discussed here this afternoon, we know that high intelligence scores sadly appear to be no barrier to believing in the insanity that is gender identity ideology.
