NCAA Woman of the year
Which of the following rules is most applicable?

  1. Women are responsible for what men do.
  2. Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
  3. Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.
  4. Women’s opinions are violence against men, thus male violence against women is justified.
  5. Women and Feminism must be useful to men or they are worthless.
  6. Women who go around being female AT men by menstruating and breastfeeding babies deserve punishment.
  7. Women should always be grateful to men for everything.
  8. Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.
  9. Men always know the “real reasons” for everything women do and say.
10. The worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad. 11. Whatever women suffer from, it is worse when it happens to men. 12. Women’s ability to recognize male behavior patterns is misandry. 13. Angry women are crazy. Angry men have trouble expressing themselves. 14. Women have all the rights they need: The right to remain silent. 15. Men are the default human. Women are strange subhuman others. 16. Everyone owns and controls women’s bodies except the women themselves. 17. Men are better at performing femininity than women are because they invented it and it gives them a boner.

Lia Thomas is male and therefore ineligible to be woman of the year. Flame away. This IS a hill I will die on

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/07/2022 20:40

UPenn must hate women.

Probably too much to hope that Thomas's nomination is rejected on the simple factual grounds of ineligibility for an award specifically for "graduating female college athletes".

We can live in hope, but rule 8 is clearly in play. I guess we'll see how far they can push it.

Just another pathetic attempt by UPen(is) to justify their cheating and destroying women's swimming.

the vast majority of men do not want this

If men don't want this, why aren't more of them speaking out? Why are they leaving it to women to do all the work?

That’s SOP for men!!

felicityfortunate · 18/07/2022 06:26

Of all the damage that transgender ideology delivers sport is the one that I'm least enraged by and yet it's the one that seems to peak most people
I think it's because the unfairness is so obvious but without having to accuse men of being a danger to women and children

Because it's not important enough for them to use up time, energy and social currency over

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/07/2022 14:22

It really is the final ”fuck you” from penn university to the women in the swimming team isn’t it

how little must someone think of women to do this?

Partly trolling and partly about having another way of cementing tw as "w" in life.

But @Batdad12 also said i have a 4 year old daughter and im desperately hoping sense will have returned before shes older.

Men like him should be more active in trying to stop this, not just 'hoping' that the women doing all the work will succeed.

What are you doing to help, @Batdad12?

felicityfortunate · 18/07/2022 08:58

Good point OldCrone

Many are, and many women are speaking out in favour of it (real women, the traditional sort.)

Trying to make enemies of the normal men who are appalled by this and speaking out against it is shitty.

I'm not trying to make enemies of anyone. I was just making the point that men like @Batdad12 could do more than just 'hope' for a better world for his daughter as she grows up. He could take some action. If he's already doing that - that's great.

Perfectly timed post!

It was wasn't it 😀

Batdad12 · 18/07/2022 20:49

My post got deleted for some reason, I must have contravened some rule. Yes, more people and more men need to speak out. to be perfectly honest i wouldnt know where to start though, or what to do. Any suggestions welcome.

if anything specific happened, e.g if my daughter were to come up against issues at school believe me id be the first to speak up. but without specific events happening that involve you or your family its not obvuous how to actually fight this.

Speaking out against the ideology
Not using female pronouns for men
Using plain language
Checking the inclusion policy with your child's school

Write to your MP.

Think about what concerns you the most and write to them about that.

There are some template letters here to help you.

UPenn needs its head examining. FWIW, my guess is that Rule #2 applies most...

All the best women have penises. They’re bigger, stronger, faster and can open their own pickle jars.

That sounds like a really nifty trick. Where do you get these magically gifted pickle-jar opening penises?

Sadly, being the boring old fashioned kind of woman, I’m not privy to such information

caringcarer · 18/07/2022 23:52

There are so many talented female athletes so the numpties choose a man.

Saw a friend on Facebook comment on the Sportbible page that posted this story earlier. Every comment I read (apart from one going on about jesus) either took the piss or stated how unfair it was on women and girls Grin Thomas and Penn have really opened people's eyes to this - just not in the way they were expecting perhaps!
