Why are some people saying her book Trans is antisemitic?

How did I know this thread would be a pathetic, transparent attempt at shitstirring before I even opened it?

I genuinely don’t know what tipped me off! Did you know before you opened it?

I honestly don't understand why they are saying it or how the two things could be related.

I’m starting to think that all these accusations of anti Semitism, racism, nazi, etc that the TRA throw around Willy nilly actually devalue these words and ideas. This can only make it harder for those people who do suffer these things and have been victims to speak out against it. If you are comparing the fact transwomen cannot compete in female sport to genocide, and lesbians resfusing to date transwomen to apartheid, then surely that is making a mockery of genocide and apartheid.

I've seen accusations of anti-semitism, racism, white supremacism at people who dare to disagree with DQST! And at GCs too.

@Conflictedunicorn yes, language is how we describe concepts. Muddy the language and you have clear aim at the concepts. It works all ways for this lobby - devalue words, obscure their meanings, over- and mis-use them, use too many of them etc. You see the resulting confusion on places like Twitter, yesterday someone said ‘….because trans females are females’. It was hard to know what they actually meant or to answer it in any meaningful way. Now that we are actually beginning to have open debates because of the issues in sports, I think the abuse of language will get even worse in an attempt to keep ‘no debate’ alive.

Sorry to derail by the way. I have read Helen’s book and have no idea where the accusations come from, it’s just seems desperate.

Also Pritzker. The third Jewish billionaire Twitter was making a fuss about her talking about was Jon Stryker, but they then conceded that he's not Jewish.

That’s genuinely impressive since they’re hyperfixating on one paragraph out of 600 pages or so, which mentions three names of billionaires and doesn’t refer to any of them being Jewish, (and only two of them are.)

I’d never even have noticed the paragraph, never mind predicted it would be the focal point of TRA panto!

I very much doubt the people accusing her read the book. The standard approach is to say anyone they don't like is transphobic, homophobic, racist, antisemitic and disablist then trot out vague nonsense if asked to justify the accusation.
