Emily Bridges in the news again

There’s a lot to unpack here. The violent abuse Bridges received is utter disgraceful and rightly it should be acknowledged that Bridges should be able to live Bridges life without fear or harassment.

The tenor of the debate is not helped by these woe is me articles that have been dripping into the media since the New Year. Quite frankly, it feels like propaganda as there’s no push back on the issue at play: males do not belong in female sport.

Yeah, it's all just tripe. Posters like the one further up the thread are fannies.

@Ides Because ... there really isn't anything, frankly, as nauseatingly pathetic as bullies pretending that they're actually victims.

I personally think that too, but couldn't possibly say or write that about Bridges. You're right though. Imagine someone with the advantage of a male body and privilege having the brass neck to compete in the women's sex category. And, then doing the PR rounds as a victim.

Even Lance Armstrong didn't do that. He did a lot, but he didn't do that. Mind you, nowadays, when the 'King of the Mountains' or Maillot Jaune is past their prime, they might try and transfer into a sex category where they have an unfair physical advantage in relation to the other competitors.

I don't think Emily's mother help. Isn't Emily now supposed to be a grown up?

I don't know anyone who identifies as a damsel in distress. A very strange term. Most of the women I know (including myself) who have been subject to male violence get on with it, mainly because many of us had young children to look after. In fact I can't think of anything that I do identify as. I AM a woman, I am a mother, I am a survivor.
