Stephanie Davies-Arai (Transgender Trend) is given British Empire Medal in Queen's Birthday Honours

"On Wednesday, Ms Davies-Arai said: “I’m really honoured and thrilled to be recognised for my work. It is a huge honour and I’m quite knocked out by it and very grateful to everyone who nominated me.

“I hope it indicates a change in opinion about the treatment of children with gender dysphoria and is a recognition of my work, which has been wrongly called transphobic or bigoted.

“What I saw was a one-size-fits-all approach to dealing with these children, which risks sending them towards a medical pathway.

“One of my concerns was the alternative wasn’t talked about. Everyone should be open to debate; it’s healthy. Silencing debate by calling evidence-based approaches ‘bigoted or transphobic’ is very dangerous.”"

Wonderful news, very well deserved. And will also bring more sunlight. Even the tantrums bring sunlight!

Queen's a TERF. Who knew?

Fabulous news, off to Twitter to watch the frothing 😁

Dreikanter · 02/06/2022 09:42

Twitter is certainly frothing - they’re blaming British imperialism and calling for the abolition of the monarchy. And that the government is obviously being funded by exclusionary Christians.

I’ve just been looking at Twitter. I see at least one of our Misogynist Monitors is very pissed off.

MoltenLasagne · 02/06/2022 10:21

Congratulations Stephanie! Very well deserved 👏

TheBeardedVulture · 02/06/2022 10:36

I’ve been lucky enough to meet Stephanie several times and she is a lovely woman and an absolute legend. Thank you for your tireless work in producing materials for schools to help counter the trans ideology🌹

Oh yeah, the Charlton Athletic anthem supporter is starting to get a bit cross and close to defamatory now. Really unprofessional given DfE guidance.

I'm sure our monitors will get over it eventually.

Congratulations Stephanie-well deserved.

If Only the Queen would speak up for re instating womens prisons to be single sex-that would be quite a thing.

Oh dear, who's that then?

ThinkingaboutLangClegosaurus · 02/06/2022 19:07

A true campaigner for children. So many adults — teachers, doctors etc — have failed the children in their care by repeating mantras they know to be untrue. People like Stephanie are truly inspiring.

I have to say I am staggered. In a Smile but Shock way. I wonder who put her forward, does anyone know? And why the Honours Committee went for it? After all, this is the same committee that gave Maria Miller a Damehood (and not the pantomime sort, sadly).

Also pleased as punch to see Northern Ireland abortion campaigner Sarah Ewart honoured (which will piss off Dame Arlene no end).

Maybe that's it - the committee went for actual balance, to reflect a diversity of opinion and campaigning interests in the democratic UK?

Anyway, good for Stephanie.

Me too. It was my first reaction. My second was delight.
