And Monty Python takes flesh and throws cake amongst us…

Plasmodesmata · 30/05/2022 21:39

I have questions.
One of which is - how do they know that this was a "man dressed as an old woman" when, in similar cases, they just report as "a woman".
Is it the "old" that's different?

Hoardasurass · 30/05/2022 21:40

🤣

Mollyollydolly · 30/05/2022 21:42

I'll never understand the rules. Throw cake at Mona Lisa 'man dressed as old woman', commit a sex offence, 'woman'. It's all a mystery.

Deliriumoftheendless · 30/05/2022 21:44

Was it a Mumsnet approved cake recipe though?

MagnoliaTaint · 30/05/2022 21:52

I'm not quite sure how they get 'old woman' from this tbh:

That poor woman with a penis. How very dare they report that she is a man disguised as a old woman!

MagnoliaTaint · 30/05/2022 21:55

I'm not sure if the gendarmerie operate on the same principles as Police Scotland. Ils peut-etre ont misgendered lui/elle/ils/zir.

And they say it never happens - that men will dress up as women in order to commit crimes …

FOJN · 30/05/2022 22:42

I saw this earlier. I believe the young person responsible was an environmentalist of some description. The story I read didn't suggest he was trans, he appears to have presented himself as a female with a disability to attract less attention as a possible security threat.

It's almost as if even men know which sex presents the greater danger to others and are happy to use that to their advantage when it suits them.

No one would ever do that and besides safeguarding is so old fashioned!

ItWasPeculiarButBearable · 30/05/2022 22:42

What a waste of cake.

Guess it’s a step up from punching cake, right enough.

IcakethereforeIam · 30/05/2022 22:44

Omg, not in my name.

Plasmodesmata · 30/05/2022 22:45

"The story I read didn't suggest he was trans, he appears to have presented himself as a female with a disability to attract less attention as a possible security threat."
Well yes. It's a compare and contrast though. This news article was clear "man dressed as old woman". On other occasions where it could be said that a similar scenario is being played out, the reporting has been entirely different.
It's difficult to discuss this without breaking guidelines. I hope you can see what I man.

Plasmodesmata · 30/05/2022 22:47

Oh god that was genuinely a typo! Should have said "I hope you can see what I mean!"

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/05/2022 22:49

IcakethereforeIam - so it was you - dressed up as a young man, dressed up as an old lady ?
And what kind of cake was it ?

FemaleAndLearning · 30/05/2022 23:01

Somebody needs to go to Specsavers if they thought he was old. Surely being in a wheelchair would be more conspicuous unless there were lots of people in wheelchairs? The hypocrisy in reporting is so blatant. Do we know what type of cake other than it had cream in it?

Deliriumoftheendless · 30/05/2022 23:02

Pudding dressed as a cake.

Thelikelylass · 30/05/2022 23:05

Indeed it was - lemon drizzle.

IcakethereforeIam · 30/05/2022 23:07

Wasted, that's what it was. Probably just like the bloke who threw it. Not me, I'm one of the 'old-fashioned' type of women. The one's with wombs.

It was a threefer, give him that. Simultaneously, smearing the Mona Lisa, women and the disabled!

MagnoliaTaint · 30/05/2022 23:11

Ceci n'est pas une 'lemon drizzle'!

LMAO. Oh this made me Cackle! I'm a wheelchair user but am not connected to a 'hells angels' group of chair users who visit galleries together. Feel rather nefarious now wheeling about all by myself.

Oh, FemaleAndLearning. You are funny!

IcakethereforeIam · 30/05/2022 23:18

Jegâteaudoncjesuis?

Igneococcus · 31/05/2022 06:32

I think the Times report says it was a cream bun. Hang in I find it.

Igneococcus · 31/05/2022 06:35

Cream cake, not a cream bun. Attack by cream cake is known as "entartrage" supposedly, who knew.

This happens enough in France to need an actual word?

How very unlike the home life of our own dear Queen...
