I'm just not sure if I can post about this without being deleted. So ...

I think "Entartrage" is my new favourite word.

Igneococcus · 31/05/2022 07:39

I'll be at a meeting in France with mostly French-speaking colleagues in two weeks time. I will try to sneak it into the conversation somehow.

Cream cake, not a cream bun. Attack by cream cake is known as "entartrage" supposedly, who knew.

Many thanks for the share token! A pedant writes: the article says entartage. I too am astounded to find out that the French need a word for assault by cream bun. Grin

Let's all just take a moment to remember the incessant accusations of transphobia lobbed at JKR for writing a book with a serial murderer character who puts on a woman's coat and (I think) wig as a disguise so he can get close to his female victim on a dark wet winter night. This apparently indicates she thinks that all males who dress in a stereotypically female way are doing so for nefarious reasons.

Bearsinmotion · 31/05/2022 08:22

Just to say, if anyone is desperate to commit the crime of entartage, I will volunteer as a willing victim… 🍰

Entartage is one fetish I could definitely get on board with. Can't think of many safeguarding issues either.

ruthieness · 31/05/2022 08:37

Isn’t the equivalent English word for entartrage “pied”?

I'm not quite sure how they get 'old woman' from this tbh:

twitter.com/lukeXC2002/status/1530940469492035584

or even “woman.” How odd. Was he covered in a shawl in his wheelchair? Still don’t see why you’d think “woman” and not “man covered in blankets.”

MagnoliaTaint · 31/05/2022 09:00

There we go: The French requisite for 'woman' = shawl, wig and lippy.

You'd think they'd require something a bit more chic, really. I suppose that's where the 'old' comes in.

Yes and those awful signs on toilets telling women to mind our own business, not judge, stare or question any Males who choose to use female toilets.
