My dad used his tractor to plough to plant field grass after prolonged drought. It rarely got used as we were usually in drought. I think the only thing my family’s tractor could identify as was neglected.

I've just come back from our local farm shop. There is a tractor calendar hanging in plain sight behind the butchery counter, absolutely disgusting. Children go in that farm shop.

In the past, we would be worried about what the models would be wearing. Now that they have dropped the skimpily dressed models, the romantic focus can remain solely on the ‘equipment.’

And it’s coming up to Fete and Fair season! I’ve lost count of the number of country fetes and fairs I have been to where tractor related events are blatantly used to pull in the punters, ploughing competitions, open air displays of vintage tractors etc etc . I’ve even seen hardcore traction engine demonstrations and steam rollers in all their restored paintwork glory. It has been going on under our noses for years.
