I'm not linking anything because I don't want to get deleted but if you google "Gillian Philip crowdfund" you might find what you are looking for. She already has 6362 potatoes planted.

Just sent her a tenner. As one who was an active feminist in the early 70s, we fought hard to win our rights. I am not going to see them given up willingly.

Same here, Peregrina. I've just bought her novel Bad Faith, set in a dystopian future. Bet she had no idea when she wrote it, in 2008, how dystopian things were going to get, and how quickly.

I had a quick skim through the comments, and was quite amazed by the fact that the majority of recent contributions (with comments) were from men, this is so much bigger than a few shouty women on Mumsnet now. I feel like every day that goes by at the moment we are gaining momentum.

Posts with links to crowdfunders are deleted, and any posts that might be perceived as asking for money or encouraging financial contributions are likely to be reported and deleted. It's across the whole site to discourage begging posts. I don't know about the crowdfunder link rule, but the no begging rule's been in place since I joined MN a decade or so ago.

Maybe they've done the online equivalent of "settling on the courthouse steps" and that's why it's no longer taking donations? Or did she set today as the end-date, and if the initial hearing says she can proceed then it'll be re-opened again? It may just be procedural niceties rather than skullduggery.
