No idea why I was deleted.
And I can't remember the specifics of my post.
However, it is my belief that the GRA should be repealed. Having a legal fiction needs to be addressed. It is the misuse of that legal fiction which is backing up the male domination in these instances. For example, sport is an obvious one.
The EHRC need to up the ante to unequivocally include a specific list of areas which are not up for discretionary judgment.
Eg strip searching, female prisons and wards, rape refuges, etc. The answer should just be a straightforward no.
The police cannot claim to be addressing violence against women and girls on the one hand, and allowing males to strip search females without their consent, on the other. On the basis of adhering to the equality act!
The EHRC need to address how allowing discretionary policies will default to favouring males at women's expense.
It's their sole job to uphold why we have sex as a protected characteristic, ffs.
They know.
