That’s a serious allegation.

Men often claim that women lie about rape.

Suppose it went to court. (IW seems to harbour fantasies of self-martyrdom for the cause, so maybe it’s conceivable.)

Would the Baroness be able to prove it untrue without publicly revealing information that needs to be kept private? Could relevant evidence be kept confidential?

Or maybe she could just wait till things are public and then sue the ? How does it work?

I am not a lawyer, so I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that in England and Wales you had to prove that what you were saying was true to defend a libel action, not that that the person suing you had to prove you were lying?

Peeing in full view of everyone? Isn't that what the, erm, men do at urinals. Carry on India, if you feel more comfortable peeing like a man, go for it.

If it went to court India can defend a claim of defamation by proving their statement is true. So India would have to prove that it was more likely than not that the baroness had made up the story. I imagine this would be quite difficult.
