Be fair: you have to post an awful lot of rape and death threats to get banned from Twitter. Most of the misogynistic twits can’t get to that banning threshold no matter how hard they try. Just look at all the tweets that stay up.

Politely ask about women’s rights though and it’s straight to a ban.

The monstering Glinner has been getting on Twitter for this has been utterly horrendous, and I know it's nothing new, but today it really hit me how completely grotesque these people are. They really don't see him as a human being. I get how frightening it must be now.

Tonight he says it has brought lots more supporters his way though, so something of a slight silver lining there.

Now we know you are trolling - feminists have been routinely banned from Twitter for stating the obvious, beginning with Meghan Murphy a couple of years ago. Not sure who you think you are talking to on this board, but you will get pretty short shrift. This is not Twitter - instead it is a well reasoned, comprehensive discussion of the issues that are affecting the rights of women. Plopping a sentence, telling us all off (a la Twitter) really doesn't work here because you are up against a host of adult human females who know what the issues are and also know how to debate them.

It was a “nice” try re smearing GL further, but obviously not successful.

As an aside, re the “fake” Twitter account. Anyone able to give more insight? I’m not on Twitter, si don’t understand how it operates. How is a fake account like that still available for all to see? WTF hasn’t it been deleted?

There's quite a few fake GL accounts. Twitter has a report function section for just this reason - to tell them when it's an account who's impersonating someone else.

I've reported fake Glinners so many times and they just ignore the report and they still stand. It's a mystery. I don't think it too far fetched to say that Twitter hates GL too and lies about him help their anti-women 'cause'.

Ok, so my first removed post said that I AGREE there should be women only places where penis' aren't allowed.

I then said that I had read the DM article and AGREED with GL , however , I then googled him and was concerned that some of the tweets I read were grossly offensive.. I then quoted a tweet which is why the post go removed.

I then said that the extreme activists on both sides were preventing a sensible discussion on the subject. And for that I'm an evil troll?!!

Clearly, from the fact I googled him after reading the DM article shows I had never heard of him before so I did a quick google. Apologies for not blindly believing an article in the Daily Mail, I mean obviously they have such a reputation for objectivity and accurate reporting 🙄

Sadly, in real life many of us would get into trouble if we were seen to publicly support him. It’s very disturbing.

How predictable that it's the women who advised OP not to be taken in by fake Twitter accounts who are being labelled as nasty and told they're the reasons conversations are shut down.

That poster unwittingly got it wrong and is now unhappy with those that explained it was fake

I think under the circumstances there are two ways a poster could act following that, either say oops sorry I didn’t realise…or keeping going

I also think that which one of those are picked says a lot about that posters

Twitter is run by people who will let accounts stand where they openly declare they are 'minor person attracted' (that's kids by the way), and yet shadow ban and delete accounts that dare to believe in biology. There is a name for those types of people that we cannot say on here, otherwise we will get banned.

Twitter has different standards depending on what your opinions are. It's a shit show.

It is. If you join Twitter and follow too many 'rad fem/norty people' accounts too fast, they simply block you and hold you ransom for your phone number.

If you join and only follow say two people, and then sit there for a few months and follow rad fem/norty accounts slowly, you can get through the phone number issue.

Any proof that's him? Apart from the fact that that would be breaking twitter's rules and twitter could easily check.

Blimey, that’s crazy re Twitter rules and not deleting fake accounts when reported. I’m glad I’ve never joined - I don’t think my blood pressure could take some of the rubbish I’ve seen posted via links I’ve seen from this board.

Anyway, was good to see Graham’s article. And was great to see so many comments posted, the overwhelming majority was fully in support of him. I hope he read the comments. A chunk of show business society has really shot itself in the foot - they’ve ostracised a fantastic writer. However, they can’t take away the legacy of Father Ted, IT Crowd etc.

I think something like 1/3 of Twitter "users" are actually bots.

Justin Timberlake got to be the world's most followed tweeter because his agents bought millions of bots to follow him...

During the EU referendum something like 1/3 of posts on the subject were written by bots.

Behind the scenes however, there is a small team of woke dudebros in San Fransisco who believe the most misogynistic, porn-mentality derived, harmful clap trap deciding who gets to stay and who gets to go.

My husband works for a SV company and personally knows quite a few Twitter employees. He thinks they are skilled but 'weird'. He finds them 'unsettling'.

I can't stand Paisley but I don't see how Graham Linehan bringing a private lawsuit against him will benefit women at all.

That's one crowdfunder I definitely won't be contributing to.
