It's been swamped by TRAs - madness.

DomesticatedZombie · 29/03/2022 13:35

With chips?

TheWeeDonkey · 29/03/2022 13:44

Sure, she can have as many as she likes 😉

Really? Can’t see the results but the comments say it’s 90% no. Did they get the bots out?
Absurdle · 29/03/2022 14:04

looks like they did set the bots on it, lol.

So 99.97 out of 100 Twitter bots agree. I hope TRAs everywhere find that super validating!! ❤️

Supersimkin2 · 29/03/2022 14:09

TRAs are voting madly 🤣

DomesticatedZombie · 29/03/2022 14:23

Oh, bless.

They are welcome to their twitter poll wins if it makes them feel better.

Good. They are highlighting to people who hadn't been paying much attention to what's been going on the fact that most of those who now demand access to women's safe spaces under the expanded 'trans umbrella' have fully intact male genitalia and are sexually attracted to women.

Many of the comments also show pictures of trans women in a way which reminds me of a male idea of how women should look. Sexually appealing to men, rather than full human beings.
nepeta · 29/03/2022 16:39

In other words, a woman here is a certain kind of woman, perhaps more common in male imagination than in reality, defined by beauty, cleavage, demur smile and so on.

nepeta · 29/03/2022 16:42

This is yet another example of how it is extremely dangerous to assume that some sub-group on Twitter is representative of wider public opinion. But politicians and even newspaper articles do seem to believe that. Yet only something like 20% of people on the global level are on Twitter, and most of those are not on political Twitter (I am guessing on that last bit).

Apparently the the LGBTQ community on twitter are TRAs now. Are UK women also TRAs as they say that trans women are women. These TRAs are apparently everywhere

Not sure why so many have an obsession with posting a picture of themselves. Seems to be inundated with a lot of exhibitionists. Seems like the days of trying to pass as the opposite sex are gone, and they want the world to know about their "special" identity.

But either way the result goes, it's a stupid Twitter poll, and shows how insular people are that they're battling over something like this. But I suppose when you invest so much in a labels, base an entire identity around a label, you're not focussing on reality.

Have YouGov defined how they're using Women in the drop down Sparkling?

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 29/03/2022 18:00

I'm not sure highlighting one of the many problem with allowing 'TW' into women spaces is the win they think it is.

Whichever way that poll goes, TalkRadio can make a story of it. And PP are right, it will wake a few more unaware bystanders up to the issue.

ChristinaXYZ · 29/03/2022 20:46

They've put it to Emily Thornberry - who goes round the houses like the rest of the utterly, utterly, useless Labour Party.

Just illustrates why there is no point engaging with these imbeciles.

WagnersFourthSymphony · 30/03/2022 01:11

Is there a word for people who can get pregnant?
It would be useful.

Crackersnack · 30/03/2022 06:51

One of the replies is:

Incredible that this is the question being asked, rather than 'should trans people have access to proper healthcare (etc)?

This always confuses me. Of course trans people should have access to proper healthcare. Of course! But doesn't the provision of proper healthcare rely on knowing the biological sex of the patient? A person presenting with an issue with their penis cannot possibly be assessed and treated appropriately unless they are assessed and treated as a male.

Calyx72 · 30/03/2022 07:01

I think what they mean by 'healthcare' is hormones, puberty blockers, double mastectomies, hysterectomies, facial feminisation surgeries, laser hair removal, cosmetic genital surgeries and so on
