Partygate made me angry. This makes me very angry. Partygate was politicians being greedy and telling lies (they're politicians - I'm not shocked).

This is very different to that. It affects the law and the potential for democratic engagement. It affects our legal rights.

Yes, the Tories are corrupt and frequently lie. At least they don't really pretend to be anything other than they are. And they don't seem to try and foist their own 'side of history' on others like Labour are doing.

I agree with very little when it comes to Tory policy, but if Labour - or any other party - are determined to ignore women, then fine, I am happy to ignore them right back.

I absolutely do care about partygate. And covid-related corruption, dodgy deals with Russian oligarchs, appalling welfare support for people with disabilities etc. But if labour has their way I will completely lose any ability to track how any/all political decisions impact women. That is too high of a price to pay, despite being very much on the left on pretty much every other issue.

Great post, Lockedoors, Your frustration and anger come through very strongly. It's shameful to have an MP with so little class or clue as to how to conduct herself or behave to constituents. The Labour Party seems to have gone downhill in the quality of MPs. From criminals to drunks to uncouth abusers, liars, cowards and bullies of Rosie and deniers of women, reality and democracy, they have it all. Not for the first time, I wonder how they are selected and who selects them.

In that last eventuality, I take comfort from the thread I read earlier today on FWR saying that current schoolkids are fed up to the back teeth with gender ideology. I hope that in a few years we will look back on this brief and horrifying interlude with incredulity.
