Please make sure you request a paper copy of the census. Do not fill it in online. Information will be soon be provided on what exactly is to be written. Please tell everyone you know to do the same.

Thank you, have just requested mine by telephone. Lines are busy and I had to wait about 15 minutes.

Will also be requesting a paper copy. I'm glad the phone lines are busy - hope that means lots of people are requesting paper copies.

I'm also planning on phoning up for help on the sex question "I've read the guidance and am confused about the sex question..."

I phoned up for help in filling out NHS survey on GP services, and poor soul on other end could only keep repeating that I didn't need to fill in my gender , on a health survey of all things.

You are forced to accept gender if you do it online

You must have a gender that is either the same or different to your sex

There is no option to reject gender
If you put not trans, by the definition they give of what that mean it means you see your gender as women

Nothing is “wrong” with doing it online, but if you want to register your disagreement with the fact that the census is choosing not to record sex on this occasion, then you can join For Women Scotland, who will likely engage in a degree of civil disobedience, or will be somehow objecting in a way that cannot occur online.

I requested a paper copy this morning - I did it on line & it took about 2 minutes just need the number from the letter, confirm address & tell them how many people in the household.

Same - requested paper copy from the website. Looking forward to writing some sharp retorts to the gender woo questions!

A bit pissed off that Scot gov are making us waste paper and spending my taxes in this way by not recognising sex.

Drop in the ocean compared to the millions of taxpayers’ money they have wasted on the ferry fiasco, and the £6million cost of the independence referendum, etc. The SNP will continue to squander our money and trash women’s rights in Scotland until we vote them out.

I’ve completed it online - damn, wish I’d known beforehand.

I’ve also made a (small) stand by ticking ‘Other British’ to show that I don’t align with the Scottish Govt’s nationalist stance. They use numbers identifying as Scottish as one form of justification for a further Indy vote.

Interesting that they have such long queues for telephone line. As most people who wish a paper copy will not have access to the Internet, perhaps because of age or lack of money you would think that they would have enough operators to make it easy for this vulnerable group.

I’m a bit conflicted about the plan to record ‘believer in biology’. It doesn’t feel like it encapsulates what my concerns are appropriately. But too late to register that and I want to protest. How do other people feel about the suggestion? I also think the ideas about suffragette coloured things in envelopes are fun but ultimately pointless.
