She gives not one shiny sh1t about women.

Has everyone realised this now?

She thinks women should need permission from two doctors to procure an abortion but that any bloke can be a woman on his say so just by signing a piece of paper in lawyer’s office.

Not fucking surprised, she's appalling and gives not a shiny shit about women.

Cismyfatarse · 27/02/2022 16:05

If she is a "feminist to her fingertips" then I am bewildered at how she can call our concerns "not valid" without listening to any of our views at all. She clearly hates women.,

She didn't give a shit about gay rights when it came to section 28 - why on earth is she willing to expend political capital forcing this through. Its beyond an embarrassment for Scotland. She had my vote, it's long gone over this. No idea how long I'll have to vote Tory for but I'm held hostage now, I don't want to be forced into being a single issue voter, but here we are.

Maybe that's exactly it though, for NS and others- they opposed equalising the age of consent, repealing Section 28, gay marriage etc. and the sky didn't fall in after those things passed. So they now feel they have to give trans rights unconditional support, as a sort of absolution. See also, Theresa May.

She had a very short lived career as a lawyer before she became an MSP but was investigated for professional misconduct after a complaint from a domestic abuse victim who was her client.

JellySaurus · 27/02/2022 17:45

She self-identifies as a feminist.

Stealhsquirrelnutkin · 27/02/2022 20:15

Very interesting. Seems nothing much has changed, she is still completely lacking in empathy and compassion for abused and vulnerable women.

"The complaint against Ms Sturgeon was brought by a battered wife who turned to the newly-qualified solicitor for help after years of abuse at the hands of her husband.

Ms Sturgeon was working at Stirling law firm Bell & Craig when the client – now a grandmother in her 60s – first sought her help in July 1996.

Over the next 14 months, despite the woman being followed, threatened and physically attacked, it was claimed Ms Sturgeon did not seek a court order against her violent partner.

The client also alleged that Ms Sturgeon failed to send off her legal aid application – despite claiming that she had done so.

After Ms Sturgeon left the firm for a new job in Glasgow, the unsent application was discovered in the client’s file by her new solicitor, Cath Dowdalls, now a QC."

No kidding.
I'm particularly fond of the standing for women stickers on the subject Grin

MangyInseam · 27/02/2022 20:34

The empathy thing is weird.

I feel the same about Justin Trudeau here.

They come across as if they are super-empathetic, it is kind of their thing. JT is always crying in public.

But then they seem so completely unable to put themselves in the shows of people who they don't naturally gravitate to.

Wow. That's horrible.

She was focused on herself and her own career.

Sounds about right. I lived in Pollokshields East when she was flown in to become MSP. She never cracked a smile, never responded to a letter, never showed her face in the constituency except on polling day.

She's a good performer.

Letsnotdothisplease · 27/02/2022 21:48

Sturgeon, Trudeau, Ardern: all vacuous idiots whose only stock in trade is da feelz.

Feel free to convince me otherwise.

Populists often go for sentimentality. I've had enough of emotipolitics tbh; I'd prefer adults to have reasonable conversations and arrive at mutually satisfactory decisions. Naive of me, I know.

It's empathy as a performance and their experiencing it as preformative is probably why they don't have any issue with the idea that gender is simply preformative

ScreamingMeMe · 28/02/2022 09:09

Yes, it's actions vs words isn't it?

ScreamingMeMe · 28/02/2022 09:09

Also, another male 'feminist' who is nothing of the sort.

Nelliephant1 · 28/02/2022 09:25

Don't talk nonsense. All things should be balanced including "feminism"

Men have been slowly but surely vilanised over the years and now can't do right for doing wrong meanwhile women are seen as put upon abused saints which is soooo far from the truth to be laughable.

MichelleScarn · 28/02/2022 09:37

@Nelliephant1 so you think it's nonsense that people are saying this isn't fair? That
She thinks women should need permission from two doctors to procure an abortion but that any bloke can be a woman on his say so just by signing a piece of paper in lawyer’s office. is OK and just?

Are they, aye?

Got any evidence, data, facts, thoughts, parsnips - anything at all - to back up your bullshit assertions?

Thank you TheMarzipanDildo. Needed a laugh this morning.

ScreamingMeMe · 28/02/2022 10:00

What is with the influx of ploppers, MRAs, tone-policiers and people generally chatting shit on here at the moment?

I wouldn't mind if they had decent arguments, but they never do.
