Period Pants for 'children' using a photo of boys - WTF?!

Cheeky Pants are selling period pants for children. Not girls. And using a photo of what very much looks like a couple of boys to me.

My first thought was logically perhaps they're targeting the incontinence / bed-wetter market, but the copy clearly refers to children having periods etc.

No no no no no.

Fuming!!!!

Whiskersonkittens21 · 17/02/2022 22:45

I'm baffled. Do they sell incontinence pants? I'm clutching at straws and wondering if someone mucked up which photo to use.

Theimpossiblegirl · 17/02/2022 22:46

This is getting beyond ridiculous.
Promoting boys being able to claim anything that girls have as their own. Where will this madness end?

Plasmodesmata · 17/02/2022 22:46

They do sell bedwetting pants for children, and on the main website (not phone site) that photo is in that section.

KhaleesiOfChaos · 17/02/2022 22:48

Period pants can also be used for incontinence. Logically, if they're targeting the childrens market and want to include both sexes they should be marketing these as "leak-proof underwear for periods or pee" or something.

Not calling them period pants and shifting the focus of the target customer to be at best 'gender-neutral' and at worst, male!

Sorry - that last comment was for @Whiskersonkittens21

These are clearly period pants. For children. They mean girl children. Females. Anyone that young should not have transitioned, they lack capacity.

FrancescaContini · 17/02/2022 22:50

Oh my fucking God.

“Children” have periods, do they?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 17/02/2022 22:51

Why do they say children are starting their periods earlier nowadays?
Which type of children? If only there was a way to differentiate between them.
Would it really be so fucking difficult to just use the word girls ffs. What a woke joke.

converseandjeans · 17/02/2022 22:52

I just looked and the photo of the boys seems to be advertising incontinence pants which is a different market. It does seem odd if they are using this photo under the section on periods.

www.cheekypants.com/children-period-pants.html

This link just seems to have girls on it.

Plasmodesmata · 17/02/2022 22:54

Although the site has clearly been through the "remove all reference to women and girls" cleansing process.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 17/02/2022 22:54

Oh bollocks. We use cheeky wipes period pants. Going to have to find another brand now as I can't support this. Pity because they're good too.

Embracelife · 17/02/2022 22:56

On uk site the pic is with pants for incontinence

KhaleesiOfChaos · 17/02/2022 22:59

@converseandjeans The photo of the boys is on their homepage as the main product image with the heading 'childrens period pants'. No mention of incontinence or bed wetting. So not only is it woke bollocks but it's also shit for their SEO!

I'm pissed off (pun intended) that anyone thought this was the best picture to use alongside that particular heading. Even if it was for a dual-use product, one use of which is 100% for the female sex only, then why not go crazy and include an actual girl in the photo?

I have two children around 10-11, one has a penis the other one doesn’t…

If any (or both) suddenly start to bleed from their genitalia, should I buy the period pants or get a doctor’s appointment? And how do I know what do do for each one?

RoaringtoLangClegintheDark · 17/02/2022 23:00

Hasn’t it just Angry Sad

“Children” starting their periods FFS

Seems like a great product too, what a shame they have to fuck it up like this.

DomesticatedZombie · 17/02/2022 23:02

Sainsbury's do period pants for girls.

MichelleScarn · 17/02/2022 23:02

Oh and they're using the 'girls having pillow fights, cos that's what they do' trope.

Never had one, have I been deprived?

This is the picture I get so incontinence rather than period protection. I'm still not happy about the removal of'woman/women' from the site.

KhaleesiOfChaos · 17/02/2022 23:10

Are those of you on desktop seeing the incontinence heading over the boys photos even on the homepage?

Not that it matters that much I suppose as they've genderwashed the entire site!

KhaleesiOfChaos · 17/02/2022 23:14

@converseandjeans I've read about that too, thanks to MN I went down an unpleasant rabbit hole (awkwardly appropriate use of that phrase, sorry!) learning about that fetish.

Yes boys only show up for incontinence products on laptop. I can't seem to attach screenshot. For the section children it's all girls.

However they should be using the word girls rather than children.

Qwill · 17/02/2022 23:18

It looks like you got a glitch on the website, I can’t find it either. IT issues happen to the best of us!
