@Beowulfa

The nation that gave the world some of its finest scientists and engineers.....come on, you can do better than this.
I know!!! We are raging & it’s embarrassing up here with all this bullshit.
spacehardware · 17/02/2022 18:28

"This never happens"

No true Scotsman eh. Literally in this case

StarCat2020 · 17/02/2022 18:31

How the fuck did we end up here?

JakeyRolling · 17/02/2022 18:36

Sadly this isn't the court reporters fault. IPSO dictate preferred pronouns must be used. Emphasising the penis and making sure there's a picture is the only way they will be able to make it clear. (Even if it makes them look stupid)

WouldIwasShookspeared · 17/02/2022 18:48

I think it's good to put it like that rather than say she then deliberately avoid specifying exactly what the person did with what part of their body

The vast majority of people who read it know the truth.

BOOTS52 · 17/02/2022 18:54

He must have found his 'ra ra' skirt in the back of his mother's wardrobe as I had one of those back in the 80's and thought I was so cool as my mum's friend had bought it for me abroad and it was lovely with my fall down ankle boots. I really did not know all about these issues until I read on here and was informed of that Irish male called Barbie Kardashian who was and is very violent and attacked a social worker while she was driving him and nearly took her eye out and tried to strangle her with is legs. He is now in a women's prison but this is not in the papers here so most Irish people do not know that males are in women's prison's and safe spaces etc. This needs to be made public as such a violent male who has attacked his own mother and another woman should not be locked up with women.

BOOTS52 · 17/02/2022 18:55

Also I think here in Ireland you can change your name legally and just become a female. How is that right. I am very open minded and do not care how anyone wants to live their life or dress but I do have a massive issue if men with penises are in women's spaces. This makes it so unsafe for women and what if these men are in female toilets and young girls in there. Shocking that all hidden here and most people none the wiser.

Goatsaregreat · 17/02/2022 18:58

Isn't it all grim? I suppose this is the future we have to look forward to. Heaven help women ending up in a hospital ward with him - sadly some NHS trusts have special policies to ensure that sex offenders like him get to share wards with ill women in hospital.

Selkiesarereal · 17/02/2022 19:03

I actually think that the reporting on this is quite good as right at the start it mentions a woman exposing her penis and later on witnesses seeing a male in a badly fitting wig and a rara skirt.

I suspect that a lot of the Daily Record readers will be wtf over this and I do think this was done deliberately.

Yes more and more irish people need to know what has been done in their country & in their name. Irish leaders and now Scottish leaders are turning our counties into a Celtic Taliban

@EmbarrassingHadrosaurus

I don't know, but I think 'she has recently undertaken courses for working in the wind turbine industry' must be

I admire the optimism but I must express concern that this optimism extends to joining the Army Reserve as I'd be very unhappy if the forces were to recruit someone with such a recent history of sex offences. I would also have some concerns about interleaving the physical demands of being a reservist with the recovery that would be involved with reassignment surgeries.

Right, well it was just a light joke about the phrase 'working in the wind turbine industry' being a euphemism, in response to the post about 'originally from Glasgow' being one.

No serious point meant.

Sorry - I didn't mean you. I was commenting about the defendant's solicitor who refers to the defendant's optimism about being able to work in the industry that is interesting to the defendant plus wanting to join the Army Reserves.

"She's very optimistic she will be able to gain employment in an industry she is very interested in," said Mr McGloin.

Thompson has also served in the armed forces, he explained, and was hoping to join the Army Reserve force.

RJnomore1 · 17/02/2022 19:24

I do wonder at this being the top story on the record site in the same day as the reports about a survey on gender recognition are in the news…

crowsfeet57 · 17/02/2022 19:28

If he acts like a man, wanks like a man and has a penis why the hell is he being described as 'she.'

When will this utter lunacy end?

Riapia · 17/02/2022 20:33

You really want to deny a woman the right to have a penis.
Mysogynists the lot or you.

NecessaryScene · 17/02/2022 20:52

IPSO dictate preferred pronouns must be used.

I think a hell of a lot more people would prefer "he" was used.

The paper isn't being written for the offender's benefit.

Humbold · 17/02/2022 20:57

I bet Chloe wishes Chloe still lived in Scotland because it would be straight into a female prison and all the child and adult witnesses could be prosecuted for hate crimes for misgendering a member of one of the most vulnerable and persecuted groups in existence. Shock and revulsion is no excuse for not validating this woman's identity as they copulated with a wheelie bin and publicly expressed their feminine desires with a sex toy. Learn not to look people.

SisterRuth · 17/02/2022 21:00

@Zerogravity

Why are the feelings of one pervert prioritized over the feelings of thousands of women who have to read this nonsense?
This is exactly it. Any man's feelings come before every woman's safety. I could scream.
DuesToTheDirt · 17/02/2022 21:04

@crowsfeet57

Exactly, The BBC poll published today suggests substantial numbers of people support self-ID, easier gender recognition, and access for transmen to women's spaces, surprisingly with more women in favour of this than men.

"On the issue of prisons, there were slightly more people in favour of transgender women being housed in women's prisons (33% v 27%) but there were a lot of people who did not know. One in five neither agree nor disagree (21%), while a further one in five say they don't know (18%)."

I wonder if the people supporting these measures genuinely think that if someone identifies as a women that means they think, behave, and act like a woman. I bet they don't realise the sort of "women" that can end up in women's prisons.

QuinkWashable · 17/02/2022 21:24

wow - the data, including questions, is available if you follow the links through.

Rhannion · 17/02/2022 21:33

It’s all in the way the questions are phrased in that poll.

I actually think that they’ve done the very best they can within the IPSO guidelines with this report.

They don’t refer to him as a woman once. It’s always circumvented: the terms they use to refer to him are: Scot, former soldier, and Glasgow born sex offender. All of which, in isolation, are more likely to evoke someone male than female (whether because of male as default, or the fact that most soldiers and sex offenders actually are male).

They have to use “her” because of the IPSO guidelines, as others have said, but they couldn’t make it any clearer that this is a man, with the many references to “her” penis, and to people identifying him as male.

An article like this is a good way to wake people up to what is happening as a result of genderist ideology, how far the rot has gone, and the need to challenge these ludicrous guidelines - and the comments reflect that.

I certainly don’t get the impression the writer actually believes this a woman, or wants others to believe this is a woman, not for a nano second.

Of course it’s madness that they have to go along with the charade that there’s anything female about him, but I think they’ve done a pretty good job of getting around and even highlighting the madness.

The real scandal is that these IPSO guidelines were ever introduced, and are still in use; and that the Equal Treatment Bench Book was similarly drafted according to the demands of trans rights activists, making a mockery of the legal process in every one of these cases.

The near-total capture of the Establishment is the problem, and that’s what needs to be challenged. I think Fair Play for Women were bringing a challenge to the IPSO guidelines, though I’m not sure where that is atm. Anyone have any up to date info on that?
