Thank you!

HenGab4 · 10/02/2022 21:19

Thanks for sharing.

Tiphaine · 10/02/2022 21:24

Thanks Spero. I will read and share it.

Spero · 10/02/2022 21:35

Had to delete statement for some redaction - will post again when it's back up.

Statement back up - RRS's address had to be redacted. It's a grim read.

It’s taken me nearly two hours to read, but I read every word.

I feel like I’ve been punched in the guts just reading it, I’m shocked at how poorly Bristol has behaved towards you. I can’t imagine how hard it must have been to live it.

I wish you every success with the court case.

Shortpoet · 10/02/2022 22:36

I can’t tell the time. An hour and a half!

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/02/2022 22:39

I'm half way through. I have been following this on here for a while, but reading it all like this is incredible.
And not in a good way.

Spero you also put the statement on the other thread, can you get her address deleted from that one ?

exwhyzed · 10/02/2022 22:46

@Spero I haven't read it yet (I intend to and I'm glad the case has had coverage in the national media)

BUT the redaction hasn't actually worked I'm afraid. Its still possible to 'see' her address in a couple of seconds if you know how to do it.

My advice would me to redact, screenshot as a picture rather than a word doc and then re-save again as a PDF

ArabellaStrange · 10/02/2022 22:48

Thank you for posting this does sound like an important read but I do not have the energy to read 74 pages of legalese speech right now.
Would someone please do a summary and point me in the direction of helping?

Thanks in advance

fablett · 10/02/2022 22:53

Raquel - I am standing with you. I work in the educational sector and will do everything in my power to protect and promote gender critical feminists like you.

RaquelRosarioSanchez · 10/02/2022 23:18

Thank you.

princessleah1 · 10/02/2022 23:35

Best wishes to you Raquel.

Spero · 11/02/2022 00:00

The statement was shared via a link to a website so the other thread doesn't need to be deleted. The link should access the redacted statement. I am concerned however to read that its 'easy' to read the address even though redacted. It looks pretty redacted to me!

What a nightmare for Raquel. I really hope the case goes well for her.

RhymesWithOrange · 11/02/2022 06:20

Why is AA's identity protected in a way that other students are not?

PearPickingPorky · 11/02/2022 07:28

@RhymesWithOrange

Why is AA's identity protected in a way that other students are not?
Because bullies with pretentious identities are special.

I have just finished reading Raquel's statement.
I am absolutely furious.
As for BU now employing AA - shows their contempt for women.

BigGreen · 11/02/2022 10:41

This is pretty shocking reading tbh.

RhymesWithOrange · 11/02/2022 12:19

AA works for Bristol University now?????

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/02/2022 12:23

Yes Rhymes it's shocking

NutsOhHazelnuts · 11/02/2022 12:26

So many failures on BU's part. Truly shocking.

For Raquel ThanksThanksThanks

Menstrualcycledisplayteam · 11/02/2022 13:28

Well, that made harrowing reading. How could they have thought that employing AA was a good idea? And then to invite him to a case management conference? Gaslighting, pure and simple.

Sending strength, courage and wine, Raquel. Oh and I'll go digging in the garden again later, if it is still needed. x

NanooCov · 11/02/2022 13:38

For the poster concerned about "legalese", it's a witness statement so very little legalese. Simply a harrowing account of a campaign of intimidation and a catalogue of neglect and atrocious behaviour by BU.

My kids are only 4 and 6 and I despair that by the time they are of the age to be considering university, they will have become horrible echo chambers where protection for vulnerable students will dished out to those that make the most noise and who can be most damaging to university's PR image.

I'm an Edinburgh alumni and despair at what has happened there too.
