Does everyone remember the case of Lisa Keogh, studying law at Abertay, Dundee? She was accused of breaching the university's disciplinary guidelines and put under immense pressure coming up to her exams for stating basic "inappropriate comments" in her course. The university eventually decided to take no action. She is now raising an action against them for the stress caused. Implications for freedom of speech at university. Now good news, the great Joanna Cherry is assisting with the case!

It's still up on her website! Nothing on her Twitter. I hope it's just some temporary blip while they investigate spurious complaints? But she should post an update, idk what happens if someone makes a donation at this point but I've heard Paypal have form for keeping the money. Hopefully Stripe is more reputable. And hopefully this bullshit won't stand. Are women going to have to start fundraising with Bitcoin?

Yes, but the backer list doesn't seem to update. My tiny planting from a week ago still hasn't appeared although it shows up on my online bank transactions. I hope that the veg are getting through to the correct allotment.

@Redshoeblueshoe I was just about to post the same thing. I know it's a preliminary hearing with abertay asking for the case to be dismissed but I got lost trying to follow it

I came on here to see whether anyone legally versed was giving any commentary. I would be very interested if anyone is following

IADNAL, but it looks like the usual preliminary hearing in which the defendant tries to argue that there is no case to answer and that Lisa's claim should be thrown out.

Unfortunately, I have no idea of the relative strengths of the counsels for both sides' arguments. The Sheriff seemed to ask Lisa's counsel more questions - not sure if that's good, bad, or par for the course.

From a selfish point of view I am hoping that it goes to court because I'd like to see Joanna Cherry in action in court. I mean, I hope it dissolves so that Lisa doesn't need to go through it, but, I'd love to see JC wipe the court floor with the idiots.

Bumping and donating.

I sent Lisa a message asking why the single donations aren’t coming up. She informed me that the large ones are just all of the small ones bunched together but because the site would have to go down to show all the small ones they couldn’t do it. She is going to speak to the site manager and ask her if she would be able to do this although I believe it would be very time consuming.
