These very forums had to be split because GC "feminists" were overwhelming the board with trans talk to the virtual exclusion of any other topic.

There is far more discussion of every feminist topic on this board than the general one.

The boards were split because of a high number of complaints from people claiming to be drowned out; but for some reason all the hundreds of other threads there wasn't room for don't seem to have materialised.

Rachel Johnson appears to be a card carrying gender critic. She's also had a go at her brother on more than one occasion (she was anti Brexit/pro Remain and is anti the civil liberty restrictions her brother's government has imposed in the name of covid). I hate it when people are held responsible for the actions of their family members over whom they have no control - more often than not, women held responsible for actions of the men in their lives.

I was sleepless and reading Twitter in the middle of the night once and women in Canada were talking about some horror that had just been reported and how upset they were. And one of them wrote, 'We need Terf Island to wake up and tackle this.' Total GLOW of pride.

Indeed. There were quite a few people, or one person with quite a few accounts, complaining because they wanted us to be shunted down into the basement. But it actually worked out brilliantly, because now they can't come on here and complain.

Well, you might think they wouldn't, but they still do. Seven had made zero posts on the other board under that name when I checked last night.

Totally this. Whenever I've been to the other board, it's been more or less tumbleweed central. All the topics we supposedly stopped them talking about? Nada. They didn't want to talk about other things pertaining to women's rights. They just wanted to stop us talking about trans rights activism. But yes, as Purgatory points out, they still can't help themselves, and come here to scold and try to shut down discussion.

What I'm slightly baffled by is that threads seem to be being moved from this board onto the other one. I started a thread about Met police using derogatory language. It is possible that I absent mindedly started it in 'feminist chat' by mistake. But unlikely. I just don't post there, largely because several posters told me I wasn't welcome to do so, being the wrong sort of feminist.

Today the 'playing with dolls' thread has moved.

Maybe I should ask, actually. For me, all feminism is 'sex and gender'. So I deliberately choose to post here. I am not happy if threads are being moved purely to make the other board look busy.

I am not happy if threads are being moved purely to make the other board look busy. Nobody here will argue with your being unhappy that threads are moved. But FWR and the awfully renamed Sex and Gender board are quite busy without any additional threads being moved in. It's FWR Chat that is quiet!

I read the replies on the Twitter post. Young people that look exactly like the sex they were born but with pronouns in their names, saying in all seriousness, they want to move because they are too afraid to walk down the street in case they are murdered. Murdered by GC feminists no less. I can’t even be bothered to point out the absolute nonsense of this. I can’t be bothered to point out the core beliefs of any feminist. if you are so stupid you believe you are more likely to be murdered (for being a bloke dressed as a bloke) on the streets of Loughborough than you are in the Sudan then I can’t help you.

I have a terrible memory and it's not inconceivable I posted in 'chat' accidentally, which is why I've not asked MN. I actually fantasise about moving to a literal Terf island so YAY frankly.

For someone like Devon, who was once a ‘child’s mental health tsar’ and focused around the impact of low self esteem and poor body image in girls to criticise women who seek to protect vulnerable children, especially girls, from mistakenly transitioning, is hugely perplexing. Do they just not read around at all? Even out of idle curiosity?

As far as I’m concerned there isn’t a single key feminist issue that trans activism doesn’t impact. They even harass campaigners against female genital mutilation (including tweeting racist abuse at them) simply for using the word female. Feminists who can’t see this are deluded.

There are not many things about living in this country that make me proud, but the moniker Terf Island is one of them. The fact that women in this country are intelligent, courageous and organisationally savvy enough to have fought back against the new breed of men's rights activists is a constant source of pride and delight to me. Good for us.

As far as men are concerned, not prioritising them is the same as hating them. They are so used to being put first that they are anything from confused to outraged if this doesn't happen. You see it in all interactions with them. Even something as simple as walking down the street. Women are expected to be the ones to step aside. Women have actually tested this and the results were pretty clear. The men barging in to them, or the women being verbally abused or the man looking furious or incredulous that the woman isn't making way.

A man who decides he is a woman has still had male socialisation and I see no reason to believe that transwomen don't have the same view of women as others who have been socialised to have male entitlement.

Terf Island needs a good pub. And maybe its own cocktail. Terf Island Ice Tea!
