Wow hope that gets picked up by the MSM

I’m appalled that GG are doing that and that the police are playing along, they’ve learnt nothing

Seriously how are parents of girl guides not in arms about what that means for anyone raising safeguarding concerns about someone involved in GG?

justaftb · 19/01/2022 12:00

This is getting beyond ridiculous. How can anyone respect the police when we are hearing about case after case of women (mostly) being visited, cautioned, spoken to, prosecuted by the police for stating a man is not and can never be a woman despite how he might identify. Are none of these police men and women mortified about having to carry out this "policing"?

Helleofabore · 19/01/2022 12:00

Surely not. That would be too chilling to even contemplate.

Lovelyricepudding · 19/01/2022 12:00

?????

Obviously not seen the email but.... Shock

allmywhat · 19/01/2022 12:11

Do we need a mass campaign to email GG to register our objections to that appointment? They can't prosecute us all. Maybe that wouldn't be helpful for the women at the receiving end of this bullying as it could be interpreted as harassment? But for fuck's sake.

I only hope they've gone after someone like @femmeloves who is ready and able to fight this - I understand that many women are not able to do that for good reasons, but this absolutely outrageous behaviour needs to be dragged out into the sunlight and exposed.

allmywhat · 19/01/2022 12:19

Is this something the Police and Crime Commissioner can help with? Aren't they supposed to help with police accountability?

I think it's time that high-level police officers were held personally responsible for this bullshit. If they're turning this country into a Stasi state, name and shame them in the press and get them sacked. There is no public support for this police overrreach and it seems like the legal basis for it is very shaky based on Fair Cops' recent court win.

VelvetChairGirl · 19/01/2022 12:27

They are going to be asking why girls are not joining and they are going backrupt soon arent they.

just like the vagina musuem

IvyTwines · 19/01/2022 12:34

@VelvetChairGirl

They are going to be asking why girls are not joining and they are going backrupt soon arent they.

just like the vagina musuem

And it will lead to even more girls missing out on real-world comradeship and adventure and instead spending more time on social media at home.

So reporting a safeguarding concern to a children’s organisation about someone’s behaviour when they are working with children now gets you a visit from the police and a referral to the CPS? 🤔 Friends, I think the endgame is now in sight. Horrifying.

Whatwouldscullydo · 19/01/2022 12:37

Funny how some peope are held to really low behaviour standards and others, well.an.email is a problem.

Wonder what the differences between the people are

averylongtimeago · 19/01/2022 12:47

I contacted Girlguiding about my concerns over this issue and had a "we are looking into it" reply. I guess the police in Nottinghamshire will be busy chasing us all for wrongthink. Obviously no violence or theft going on there at all.

OneEpisode · 19/01/2022 12:59

The police? Interviews under caution? About emails sent to an organisation?

Goatsaregreat · 19/01/2022 12:59

This is the end game. Now in plain sight.
NitroNine · 19/01/2022 13:00

Did any Volunteers contact them with concerns?

Because if they’ve set the police on Normals, I’m concerned they might suspend Volunteers for their “transphobia”. Of course, they might then find themselves short said Volunteers if people decided to tell Girlguiding that much as they enjoy the endless paperwork, stress & sacrificing of time & energy, they’ll be going, rather than hoop-jumping to try to retain their Membership.

Gumbomambo · 19/01/2022 13:11

GG should be a wonderful experience for young girls to get together, build friendships, learn skills and it can really really benefit them in so many ways. It’s not safe for them. There’s women all over the relationship boards who can’t get a bloody police officer around after they’ve had the shit kicked out of them for the fourth time. Or some creep is sending a young woman 100 texts a day, following her around their towns and NOTHING is done until one washes up dead. Then and only then lessons will be learnt. Send a bloody email asking about child safeguarding, then the bloody SWOT team bursts in through your front window. Fuck them. I will keep asking my questions.

averylongtimeago · 19/01/2022 13:13

Yes, volunteers did contact them. We are all well aware of the media code of conduct- and semi naked, suggestive poses with guns and showing possibly young members faces on social media are all against it.

SceneDrama · 19/01/2022 13:26

I would like to see the email before commenting but if it was merely an email just addressing concerns about safeguarding then yes, this is chilling. If it threw in a few nasty/obscene slurs and threats of violence towards anyone then a visit by the police may be justified.

Oddly, Notts Police record misogyny as a hate crime where other forces dont:

I really hope the media pick up on this. So if you report safeguarding concerns you can expect a police visit? WTF?

OneEpisode · 19/01/2022 14:25

We haven’t seen the emails (I think I could probably write an offensive email about font choice if I tried, dunno if that would meet the police threshold) but it does seem to be more than one woman contacted by the police.

Rightsraptor · 19/01/2022 14:30

I sent them an email. I'm just a 'normie'. I may well have been very cross in a 'hope your organisation comes tumbling down' way but nothing threatening. As I live in WYP's patch and our mayor, who is woke, is also our PCC I think I should perhaps be worried 😟

EishetChayil · 19/01/2022 14:57

I've seen one of the letters written by one of the women who have been visited by the police, as she's a friend of mine. Absolutely nothing threatening or violent in it. Why would there be? We aren't the violent thugs in this argument.

Slothtoes · 19/01/2022 14:59

Exactly.
