^“I want to share something that’s been on my heart regarding what is going on in USA Swimming at the moment. I believe that we are all God’s children and we are called to love one another. I don’t want to create any hate, only speak up for what is right.

“We cannot allow transgender females to compete against biological women. A biological male goes through male puberty. Even when she has transitioned, she still has the physiology of a male. A few years of testosterone blockers and estrogen doesn’t change the fact that she will have more powerful muscles, a larger heart and greater lung capacity (than) a biological woman.

“It’s time to start standing up for women’s sports, before we (lose) what so many before us have fought for. I hope that this can help inspire others to speak up.”^

Hurrah for Erika!

Brilliant that we have one of the current generation of Olympians refusing to be bullied and speaking out

@LightningJenny

"Diversity, tolerance, acceptance, and love will win the day, and possibly a few races too!"

Oh definitely a few races....

Yeah a lot of aspirational sounding bullshit not really cloaking the issue there....

Well done, Erika.

The video on the thread below shows that there is absolutely no support for males being in women's sport. The presenter is highlighting a report by Transgender Law Society (I think) on what support the transgender movement has, what support it does not have and strategies to use for success. Apparently, the support for transgender males in women's sport is almost non-existent - so bad that they don't even publish the actual numbers.

Maybe the unfairness is so blatant now that they can’t ignore it any more.

I think this is it. When we were talking about second rate men coming in the middle of the pack or worse in womens sports it was easy to pretend there was no advantage. Or that it didn't matter. I certainly heard R4 interviewees argue that it didn't matter that Laurel Hubbard was at the Olympics, because it wasn't like she was going to win. It's easy to simply not see the woman who didn't get to go to the Olympics because Laurel took the place.

Lia Thomas' advantage is so obvious that its' really hard to turn a blind eye. And will become even more obvious when records start falling.

Well. You can't argue with that can you.

Go Erika.
