Thank You from the Lurkers

FWR (as I still think of it) is a very important corner of the Internet.

I read here almost daily, and the amount of information here is incredible - evidence, links to articles, tweets, feminist analysis, philosophical conversations, academic studies, court cases, judicial reviews, updates on previous cases... the list goes on and on. Personally it takes me time to keep up, let alone feel brave enough to comment

At this time of the year, especially, I just thought it would be nice to create a little thread to say thank you to all the regular contributers from the ones like me, who read but rarely post. Thanks for the information, the wisdom, the challenging discussions and all the lovely dinosaur names!

Hopefully some more lurkers will join me so I'm not left languishing on this thread alone!

I have been in and out of this board for 12 years or so and what amazes me is no matter what hoops those who post are FORCED to jump through in order to support the rights and safeguarding of women and children you manage to get the message across.
You are a force to be rekonded with.

Another very grateful lurker, who passes things onto friends and DH. I have really been educated and stop by almost daily. I am blessed in a life where this has not yet directly touched me, but, the one time it did, I stood up and didn’t back down. With no self doubt at all. Because of the knowledge I have gained from you all.

Mostly a lurker, wholly grateful to the intelligent, thoughtful posters.
I was GC, without knowing the term, when I found FWR and I have learned so much here.

Thank you, FWR vipers, from another mostly lurker. The knowledge, expertise, strength and compassion of those who regularly post here is so compelling. I too have begun to quietly add my name to petitions, to drop the occasion point into discussions where I feel sunlight may be needed and I'm filled with fury about what has been sneaked past everyone in plain sight.

Big fat lurker here, quietly learning and spreading the GC perspective where I can. Thank you for the patience insight and wisdom on this board - not to mention a few handy turns of phrase I've pocketed!

Thank you from another lurker! I really appreciate the discussions that go on here and the knowledge, wisdom and outrage that is shared, I have learned a lot and lurking here has confirmed my gender critical views.

There are so many of us lurkers who are grateful for the incisive explanations given by these wonderfully eloquent women. I've lost a friend of over 40 years who told me how she was worried because I'd stopped 'being kind'. I learned from these boards (and from experience!) that if you throw the full truth into your social media or by saying the truth in public that it sounds far fetched. I've learned to drip feed and got great results in peaking people. The best thing I learned was to be pro women rather than anti trans - it avoids the immediate shut down of a conversation for being transphobic.

My personal Shero is Magdalen Berns who cut straight through the bullshit and said it straight out. Since we lost her I strive daily to be more Magdalen ❤️. Happy Christmas and so many thanks to all you lovely vipers, including the immeasurably missed LangCleg. The bravest of the brave, every one of you.

I lurked for years before posting on here and even though I now post fairly regularly, I'm still in awe of the amazing regular posters here. And for those worried about not being articulate enough to post, I'm not articulate in the slightest but still post so go for it. Unless my posts are the ones putting you off of course!
