I had the pleasure of hearing him perform lecture at a demo rally around 1986. I was still at school but thought he was a tit. Just didn’t sound ‘authentic’ and full of himself. Can’t sing for toffee.

He is the biggest hypocrite of all time…. And there are a few contenders for that “honour”.

Some years ago I saw his house - it was gorgeous. I looked it up and was rather surprised to find it belonged to Billy Bragg. He’s now sold it for £2.5m to a banker. He wanted bankers to have a £25k bonus cap. What about a £25k cap on unearned house inflation, eh? He said he’d earned all his own money - well, who hasn’t? There are not that many of us who inherit millions.

He is a stupid prat trying to jump on a new bandwagon as the 80s miners’ strike stuff is wearing a bit thin (and are miners baddies now as they were mining that terrible stuff - coal? ).

I remember him banging on about how we should support the Labour Party under Tony Blair at a gig I went to some years back - he got booed by the audience and got very sulky about it. I dont think you can own a house like that and call yourself a socialist. And he`s no friend to women.

He's so earnest about changing the lyrics to Sexuality, I guess he's happy to stick with the lyrics of The Saturday Boy, where he wangs on at length (from the perspective of a grown man) about being friendzoned at school by a girl "not old enough to shave her legs", concluding, "looking back, she made us want her".
I've been a huge fan since I was a teenager, I've seen him probably half a dozen times, but he's always been the very definition of wokebro and I'm sorry I sort of explained it away to myself.
He has never been a friend to women.
And this is beside the point but he rather masquerades as someone who's worn a path between his Barking bedsit and the barricades when irl he lives in a gated cliffside mansion surrounded by world class seaside views and within a short, beautiful ramble of two fabulous hipster restaurants.

They were utterly shite lyrics to start with - he's not exactly Dylan, is he? - patronising and to my ears, a bit grudging (I'm sure that's not how he meant them to sound, but...) but the new ones ... Absolutely bloody terrible and they don't even scan/rhyme. Sounds like a desperate wokey teenager trying to be earnest in music class.

I am ever so, ever so weary of Mr Bragg's continuing journey to be worthier-than-thou.

I've often sat at one of those trendy cafes and looked up towards his big white house and thought - well actually, thought 'good on him, he works fairly hard for it, politically active etc' but that was a decade or so ago when his wokeybro-ness hadn't really dawned on me.

He's not the only lefty guy who's spouting self-righteously about transphobes - the community that could once be relied on to support women. This is one of the many troubling aspects of the infiltration of men's (and some women's) brains by SW and its ilk.

I saw him on the news tonight. I couldn't believe what drivel he was sprouting.

Saying Trans community needed supporting. And when questioned and asked about women and upsetting them about the feminine side of things he said yes these two camps needed to be reconciled and he believed it was all down to male violence and that was the main problem and if we could just reconcile, so that we could bring the two groups together.

I can't believe he's so stupid that he honestly thinks the main problem is male violence. Yes male violence is clearly A problem but if he honestly thinks that's the main problem then we've got nowhere left to go with him.

For an intelligent man surely he has read around the subject? It would appear not.
