I'm assuming through the garbled wordfuckery I'm seeing on twitter that this is people who don't understand language who are using that this is in response to:

a) The BBC article about Lesbians
b) Women objecting to the word "cis"
c) Shut up women
d) Dinosaurs
e) Shut up Lesbians
f) fannies

Meanwhile, my daughter has said girls in her class are saying "down with the cis bus" "cis people are evil", "cis should die" etc

How do you explain the other 98 gender identities? A BBC film for children claims 100 identities, not just male and female.[/quote]
I suspect there are actually more like 7 billion. We used to call them "personalities". obviously a lot of people who feel the have to buy into gender ideology don't feel that they fully embody 100% of the male or female stereotypes so it's not remotely surprising that a few more were needed.

But its derived from Latin! It's correct English!

You should point out to her that so is trans, and it means the other side of. I.e. a transwoman literally is the other side of women.

@AnyOldPrion, of course, use away!.

Another poster pointed this out before. In Latin geography, Transalpine Gaul meant the other side of the Alps. In France.
BrandineDelRoy · 05/11/2021 03:54

Cisalpine meant on the Italian side of the Alps.

BrandineDelRoy · 05/11/2021 03:58

So, "woman" equals "the Alps." Being on one side or the other of "woman" makes even less sense than the normal TRA philosophy.

I like the example of Transylvania - the other side of the woods.

transgression (n.)
late 14c., from Old French transgression "transgression," particularly that relating to Adam and the Fall (12c.), from Late Latin transgressionem (nominative transgressio) "a transgression of the law," in classical Latin, "a going over, a going across," noun of action from transgressus, past participle of transgredi "step across, step over; climb over, pass, go beyond," from trans "across, beyond" (see trans-) + gradi (past participle gressus) "to walk, go" (from PIE root *ghredh- "to walk, go"). Geological sense is from 1882

So we’re back to saying that gender identity is about stereotypes? A woman is someone who loves pink, wears lipstick and loves pretty dresses? 🙄
