Ceri Black update on invitation to interview v. arrest

Ceri Black has ovaries of steel and my admiration grows for her and her indomitable spirit.

The following is all from her Twitter update thread.

Update: there has been some back and forth between my solicitor, the police and myself.

They have invited me again to come voluntarily to the station to be interviewed under caution.

I politely declined their offer.

They made a series of other offers.

They offered to come to my house to interview me voluntarily here.

I politely declined.

They offered to interview me voluntarily at a location of my choice.

I politely declined.

They suggested that I be interviewed by female officers.

I politely declined.

y solicitor politely declined every offer they made to me.

The police then informed my solicitor that if I was to be arrested, they would be sure to let both me and my solicitor know beforehand, and arrange a time convenient to me.

They would not cuff or manhandle me.

They would have me spend as little time as possible at the station.

This is reassuring and emboldening to me; I know that I can walk through that experience with my head held high.

haven't (yet) been given either a date and time for my arrest, or a reassurance that I will not be arrested. Either way, I will keep you informed as soon as I have either.

In the mean time, please do keep up the pressure on

I don't want to be insulting, but shouldn't they be out arresting, I dunno, paedophiles and vexatious complainants?

The police's behaviour here is despicable, there's no other word for it.

If any police are reading: is this really what you signed up for? To harass women?

I really hope the police as a whole wake up and realise how they are.being used by T/MRAS.

I had no idea solicitors could negotiate terms like that.

Good for Ceri. She is strong enough to handle this and I pity any policeman who may (eventually) question her.

Thanks for this, had read Twitter but I’m pretty woeful on it and has thought that there must be more to this which is rather naive of me given that whilst I don’t post often, I know how this works, case in point being Marion Miller.

It is wonderful that Ceri has received the support she has for this situation. They don't have women on the back foot as they did. They cannot as quietly bully, scare and intimidate women at the behest of nasty, witch finders. They have to do it in the sunlight.

I wonder if they actually said ‘female’ or ‘cis gender female’? Either way, it says a lot about their attitudes.
