The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that from 10 May 2018 to 23 November 2019, Dr Harrop inappropriately used his Twitter account to post tweets that were offensive and/or insulting and/or inappropriate in nature and some of which were intended to intimidate.

The implied threat in the Vice disclaimer that witnesses are "currently" being kept anonymous is very unsettling.

One of the tweets Harrop is in the dock for is his naming and giving details of someone's workplace on Twitter and him refusing to remove it despite being asked and the person informing him that it was a safety issue for them, and now he has just given all those details to Vice News.

He knows damn well what he has done, he knows the violence, intimidation and threats women in this debate suffer and he doesn't fucking care, he has now let loose further attack dogs by sharing this information.

The GMC should strike his name from the Register now and seek to have criminal charges brought against him.

That's so fucked up.

Surely they have no choice but to strike him off now? Has he broken the law - can criminal charges now be brought?

Can the court issue an injunction to the press, to ensure they don't publish witness details?

I'm hanging around hoping Motorina might share her views. And appreciating the posters here in helping with understanding the full ramifications of this.

@Motorina - sorry to put you on the spot here... does this existing panel have the authority to deal with any 'fall out/implications' if AH has shared confidential material (or allowed it to be shared) within this hearing or would it require the process to be started again to deal with any possible misdemeanours...?

I think one issue here is that Vice did not release their source.

It's not necessarily Harrop who gave them the documents.

He may have shared them with someone who did, but how to prove that?

All we know as fact is that he cooperated with this article and was interviewed for it.

There is potential journalism exemption, but it isn’t a blanket exception and must be in public interest. I can’t see that doxxing witnesses and concerned members of the public applies as public interest.

It's not necessarily Harrop who gave them the documents.

Only limited numbers of people have access to these documents. Should be fairly straightforward to establish who shared them with vice, either directly or through a third party.

What the fuck was he thinking and what was his intention behind it.

Furthering the cake analogy, I think we might be here.

The witnesses and tweets involved in the case are currently being kept anonymous, but VICE World News was sent all of the material being discussed in the tribunal, including the full dossier of allegations, witness statements, and documents defending the doctor.

Surely there must be a data protection breach here. One that potentially puts people at risk.
