The tribunal will inquire into the allegation that from 10 May 2018 to 23 November 2019, Dr Harrop inappropriately used his Twitter account to post tweets that were offensive and/or insulting and/or inappropriate in nature and some of which were intended to intimidate.

How many days is this hearing?

I don't think there's any reason at all to believe that any of the witnesses or anonymous ppl mentioned have anything to do with either legal team.

I very much doubt C is on the legal team, not being appropriately qualified for one thing.

My guess is Harrop will go for the "it's banter on social media" line. I notice the delightful fragrant Joss Prior is attempting to defend him on the basis that the injured parties are just Twitter "gobshites", as if people who are vocal on Twitter don't have the right to a private life or not to have threats made against them by a medical doctor.

That all seems pretty cut and dried. And unjustifiable, outside of 'but they deserved it for having other views to me'.

Talk about scraping the barrel, and if that's the case then it works both ways surely?

Well Harrop was motivated by the fact that he thought those women deserved it. I'm not sure that his supporters just repeating that is going to help him.

Ooft, those charge sheets are brutal. I don't see he can wiggle put of this, the charge sheets just set out provable fact - what possible defence does he have?

I suppose he could do a Webberley and say he was acting for the greater good.

GMC asking for hearing to be heard in private! Oh please no don't agree to this. It's public interest for it to be publicly heard.

I did wonder about that, as the witnesses identities are well known to those who have been watching this play out on social media. Especially C.

Reasons must be that witnesses want privacy.

A number of the witness statements are reportedly heavily redacted. If the hearing has to go private for witnesses to be heard then so be it.

I can understand why they are heavily redacted and that the witnesses want to be heard in private after what they have already been subjected to.

I hope they do extend the dates of the tweets they are looking at.

Hearing to continue in public apparently

It is totally understandable. If I was a witness I would want privacy.

30th June, which is when the GMC are looking to extend the dates to, is when Dr Harrop repeatedly changed his profile banner and location to make it look as though he was literally in the same area as one of the witnesses.
