And, as others remark, she has now Room 101'd other women. She's living through and behaving in ways that any social psychologist versed in conformity or brainwashing (Cialdini, Lifton) would expect. Atwood may well be in for a shock if she expects this to save her from the continuing ostracism from her chosen community for her perceived lack of purity. They might not change their overall battle stance for a long time but I can't think this will go entirely unnoticed by some who look up to her or share communities with her.
