“Our work exploring the latest research, evidence and studies made clear that there are retained differences in strength, stamina and physique between the average woman compared with the average transgender woman or non-binary person registered male at birth, with or without testosterone suppression,” the SCEG said. The research concluded: “For many sports, the inclusion of transgender people, fairness and safety cannot co-exist in a single competitive model.”
While the research found that it is fair and safe for transgender people to be included within the male sports category, it determined that competitive fairness was lost with self-identification into the women’s category.
It will never cease to be a shock that an organisation states something that should be completely uncontroversial. Yet such beliefs are so shocking in contemporary times that they have to be defended in law and holding those beliefs can lead to social media cancellation and calls for job loss.
