So LOJ has been tweeting a letter from labours shadow minister for women and equality. In the letter she approves of the UCUSussex stance on Kathleen stock plus takes a swipe at the LGB Alliance. Unbelievable

I want to know who lets these idiots through the selection process.

The selection process involves chanting mantras. Any questions and you are disqualified

Clymene · 14/10/2021 10:19

And there's this former Labour MP I just heard being discussed on women's hour: www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/oct/13/mp-claudia-webbe-found-guilty-of-harassment

Convicted on overwhelming evidence of a horrible harassment campaign but Corbyn, Abbott and John McDonnell all supplied her hearing with character references and she's refusing to stand down.

Labour are absolutely fucked.

Jaysmith71 · 14/10/2021 10:39

Webbe following in the footsteps of Corbynites Fiona Onasanya and Jared O'Mara, all convicted.

(And Webbe is the replacement for Keith Vaz, also convicted.)

I genuinly worry Labour is going to be unelectable for decades (and I mean a lot of decades) unless the left have the guts to admit they got this one wrong.
Young Labour, who presumerbly are going to be just Labour in a relativly short while, are awful on this issue.

Fariha31 · 14/10/2021 10:54

MPs like Lammy, Thornberry, Cathrine West, Dawn B et all, think they have a job for life, no matter what they do or what rubbish they come out with.
They could well be in for a shock at the next election if things carry on the way they are now.

Fariha31 · 14/10/2021 10:56

@Clymene

Fucking hell, she's thick as mince.
This comment summs up Labour too perfectly.
Imnobody4 · 14/10/2021 10:57

And last night Jess Phillips tweeted link to Susanna Rustin's article in the Guardian. Today she's deleted it. Cowards and hypocrites.

I mentioned on another thread, white feathers symbolise cowardice, they should be sent to these cowards.

No I don't agree with the use of the white feather in ww1, but for symbolism today for these people and organisations they deserve it.

WildishBambino · 14/10/2021 12:15

What's interesting is that the constituent who raised this issue apparently wrote to the MP one day and got that full response, albeit it one which skirted the central issue, within 24 hours. That was an attack letter ready to go.

prudencepuffin · 14/10/2021 12:23

Labour can spout all the shit it likes but we aint going nowhere. All they are doing is showing themselves up for being (1) cowardly (2) ignorant and (3) wrong.
Would be really interesting to know how many votes will be lost over this.

Whitefire · 14/10/2021 12:24

What I find so unbelievable / strange / mind boggling is that everywhere else people are desperately trying to pull back from the issue around PB's and children, Labour are just digging their heels in even more.

Conniethesensible · 14/10/2021 12:31

@LizzieSiddal

I do hope LGBA are at this moment speaking to her and pointing out that if she doesn’t apologies and retract her comments, she will be hearing from their lawyers.
In what way do you believe that her comments with Alliance are possibly defamatory?
Whiskyinajar · 14/10/2021 12:42

Bloody Owen Jones, if he was any more woke he'd collapse with exhaustion.

I may have told him to fuck off in a recent spate on Twitter, he's blocked now.

PronounssheRa · 14/10/2021 12:53

Carry on digging that hole Labour.

Bev from LGB Alliance was on Talk Radio and GB News discussing this today. She was so.calm and reasonable and made some excellent points. Sunlight, people! 😁

Appalonia · 14/10/2021 19:11

She's also written an excellent rebuttal to the allegations in the letter.

Mamajunebugjones Maybe we should just create a womens party? Stand one candidate in each constituency. People may prefer to vote for them than to spoil their vote. May make the other parties take note.

This couldn't agree more.

Cov NW needs some ribbons and luggage tags.

itsraininghere · 15/10/2021 13:04

It is extraordinary that an elected member of parliament can use their position to attack an individual while openly acknowledging they're not familiar with that individual's work.
Mind blown.

Jaysmith71 · 15/10/2021 13:11

Was she like this as an oncology pharmacist?

"I'm not familiar with your diagnosis but I hear this horse dewormer is very good..."

Theeyeballsinthesky · 15/10/2021 15:46

Guardian reporting Labour have lost 150,000 members in the last 2 years. I wonder how many of them are pissed off women

KittenKong · 15/10/2021 15:48

I’m sure they will soon it like it’s a good thing.
