Paris Lees

I try to follow a wide range of views online, I do constantly question myself on my gender critical views (mostly because it’s the first time I’ve found myself on the side of a debate that isn’t the ‘be kind, inclusive, liberal etc etc’ one) but, yeah, biology.

Anyway - Paris Lees tweet today - is it not incredibly ironic, why can they not see that what they’re saying actually applies to WOMEN and always has, and actually is just as much, or more, under attack today than ever before? Why do I feel like I’m losing my mind with it - it’s often women themselves supporting them and then lying down to prostrate themselves at the feet of the activists if they dare to not apologise abjectly enough for existing (ha!). Argh.

Ah paris lees.

Clever name eh? Bleh.

Anyway.

This is a person who-

Wrote an article saying how awesome it was to get sexually harrassed by men on the street. Iirc made them feel attractive desirable etc.

That women who didn't like it at all (and girls?) were trying to spoil everyone's fun. What's the problem? It feels great to have random men do something to let you know they'd fuck you.

Iirc the piece was... Updated after loads of WTAF. Including a whole new bit about how some Street harrassment etc is REALLY BAD...

Also something about fab time having sex with a group of men and crying...

And was it lees who said get tits young and... Forgotten.

NiceGerbil · 13/10/2021 02:16

That tweet is nothing really.

If you continue taking notice you will see that pretty much all their arguments/ issues are nicked wholesale from other movements. And tinkered with slightly and then used. Often against the groups whose problems and arguments they took them from.

BettyFilous · 13/10/2021 06:27

“Get tits young”/“enjoy ur erasure” is Shon Fae, not Paris. Not that it makes much difference, because most women loathe street harrassment and Paris is equally clueless about women’s lived experiences.

AnyOldPrion · 13/10/2021 06:36

Screenshot for the blocked.

It’s the ultimate irony. All the discussion that’s occurring is because of the demands made by the trans lobby.

The discussion will not stop until the trans lobby modify their demands so that they aren’t insisting on something that erodes and undermines women’s rights.

So the solution lies in the hands of transactivists like Lees. But instead, they continue to demand and moan about the results of their own actions.

Interesting on a day when a woman is being actually hounded out of her job due to this. If Paris replaced the word ‘trans’ with ‘women’ it might actually make sense.

I was thinking the same yesterday. It's just more emotional blackmail. No.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2021 07:19

Lees doesn't have any empathy for women. Lees doesn't understand women or understand how it feels to be treated like your feelings and opinions on your own safety, privacy and dignity and your lived experience of being a woman are completely irrelevant and can be handwaved away by so called "kind" "progressive" people to give a group of male people everything they demand at our expense.

It's misogyny and sexism on steroids.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2021 07:21

Why do I feel like I’m losing my mind with it

Because it's gaslighting.

Igmum · 13/10/2021 07:24

What genocide? Why does accepting biological reality mean genocide? The only threats I've seen are the many from TRAs. Getting fed up with this hyperbole

Articus · 13/10/2021 08:12

There is... how many millions of women deficiency on global demographics?

Its DARVO all the time.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 13/10/2021 08:37

What has meeting transpeople got to do with anything? Does Lees think we'll be so overcome by their specialness we'll immediately drop women's rights and boundaries because obviously this group of people is first and only? I mean, of course I've met transpeople, they're just human beings like everyone else, but so what? Women matter as well.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2021 08:42

It seems to be a common idea. Even on here when people talk about their "lovely trans friend" as if we met them we would definitely change our minds about women's rights.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/10/2021 08:43

The problem with many of these people is that they don't see themselves as simply human beings like anyone else. They are special and should be allowed to play by special rules. And their friends affirm this.

terryleather · 13/10/2021 08:58

I don't use the term TRA because the R that stands for rights is a misnomer - it is in fact demands not rights that are being called for.

I say no.

No to being gaslighted, manipulated, forced or shamed into giving in to the demands of a group of males and their allies at the expense of women and girls.

And I'll keep saying no, until it "really penetrates."

If that's upsetting then so be it.

viques · 13/10/2021 09:26

This. Sucking up all the sending luv to you babes tweets only reinforces the issue and recycles it. Yes, it must be hard to be trans, as hard as being disabled, black, poor, a woman or any other category of western adult human being that doesn’t the tick the white, male, straight, solvent, boxes.

The difference is that other box tickers don’t see the box marked adult human female as a challenge to be undermined, recategorised, renamed and subsumed into their own illogical fantasy.

It’s really hard to find much love in my heart for PL who is making a comfortable living out of angst and hand wringing while blatantly ignoring biology and other people’s legal rights. I would have more sympathy if they lived their life as they want to but were honest and accepted who they are in every cell of their body.

MarshmallowSwede · 13/10/2021 09:40

Well they wanted to be women! So being not listened to, discounted and your health care issues minimized and not listened to is part of being a woman.

Women’s bodies and our healthcare research is well behind that of men, because men are the default humans.

So they wanted to be women and they claim they experience womanhood just as we do.. so take all of this bullshit too. Oh… that’s right they thought it was going to be all dress up and makeup and painted nails. Mimosas on the weekend sort of fantasy movie idea of womanhood. It’s just a costume for them.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but um getting sick of hearing about how oppressed white men are because they chose to wear a skirt.

It’s almost as if all this equality and recognition of the hard time we have given people of colour has made them find another way that they can be sure to be the centre of attention. It’s annoying.

I’m all for people libeling their truth.. but this i find it absolutely rich that people born in wealthy western nations and white men are all of a sudden “oppressed” and being mistreated because of their fashion and hair choices.

Wow.. progressive. White men are now the most oppressed group of women!

Yup.

Leave women alone.

Job done.

Ah paris lees.
Clever name eh? Bleh.

I don’t get this, can someone explain please?

aliasundercover · 13/10/2021 10:54

Every time Paris opens Paris’ mouth Paris confirms what sex Paris is.

As if anybody needed the conformation.

Try saying it quickly.

If someone posted on the Baby Names board saying 'I love the name Paris for a girl but our surname is Lees - thoughts?' there would be a load of replies pointing out that it sounds like Sleaze and telling them to avoid giving their daughter a label like that.

The person in question chose it for themselves, for their new feminine persona, quite deliberately.

EyesOpening · 13/10/2021 11:34

Thanks

HoardingFloralBuntingInACervix · 13/10/2021 11:37

The trans people in the thread underneath are getting really pissy with the disabled and fat people offering solidarity because they're just cis people trying to make it all about them.

Hehehehe, Genderists, you really need to remember your hierarchies and respect the priesthood. They won't thank you for not remembering your place.

RainbowCrossing · 13/10/2021 11:46

@EyesOpening

Thanks
This was a thing that used to happen a lot - but then everyone remembered that AGP wasn't a thing and started talking themselves 'Fae' instead.
