How do you all cope? I have read so much in the last week. How was this in front of my eyes and yet I couldn’t see it. Now I see it I cannot get it out of my head and it terrifies me. I am trying to let my intelligent friends know but it is like shaking zombies.

I swear this place has saved my sanity over the last few months. I'm in Ireland, where we already have Self ID Angry, and no we weren't asked about it, and no, the government don't care.

The media don't talk about it here, everyone just carries on as normal, I feel like I'm going crazy. How can people not care that reality is being redefined in front of our eyes, with nothing to back it up, and with disastrous consequences for women and girls!?

I'm so angry at the people in positions of power, who have just abdicated responsibility on this! Children are being harmed, and nobody cares.

@CreepingDeath hang on a minute. So self id has been implemented in Ireland? A deeply religious country where women have struggled on pro choice but a man can wake up and choose to be a woman???? How did that happen?

Because Ireland has always centred men and women are only seen in terms of what they provide for men

@LiteralViolins
I think it was ?Gloria Steinem who said 'The truth will set you free. But first it will piss you off'. I'm still at the pissed-off stage.

She did, but she wasn't the first. I looked it up a couple of years ago, when the quote was paraphrased by that was played on the radio a lot for a while.

OP it got snuck in with the legislation on same sex marriage and abortion rights. It wasn't even debated I don't think.

There are now very dangerous males in a women's prison in Ireland. It's serious stuff.

Welcome to the other side. Yes it is terrifying.

I find men are more able to listen and appreciate the risks self ID poses to women and girls.
