LGB Alliance welcome to Tory conference, but you wouldn't know it from the reporting.

It looks like the LGB alliance have been awarded a stand/stall at the Tory party conference. The Tories appear to be putting their money where their mouth is in wanting to embrace diversity of opinion and plurality of viewpoints. As such there are also other stalls representing LGBT organisations.

So why does the ITV reporting look somewhat biased to me?

I'm sure LGB alliance could do with some support, in the light of that woeful reporting.

What on earth does that pointless sound bite mean?? Of course LGB people exist without reference to transgender people. LGB is about sexuality. T is about beliefs and identity. They don't have the same issues or the same challenges, necessarily. It's forced teaming.

The LGB managed perfectly well without the T untl 2015. They are in direct conflict.

Other matters aside, bisexual, lesbian and gay adults have been informed that they are cisgender and labelled as such (not necessarily with their consent).

I have been watching it pan out on twitter. The usual suspects and the usual 'the LGBA are a hate group'. They have now turned on the LGBTCons with reports of death threats being sent. Turning on their own - what a lovely bunch of people the TRA's are. However, on the plus side whenever LGBA tend to trend I always watch their twitter followers increase.

But there are plenty of groups that represent and advocate for trans people and trans rights and trans concerns primarily or only, without centering the L, G, B, or anybody else. Which of course is fine and absolutely their right to do.

Why the double standard, hmmmmm, Jessica? Who exactly is it that ISN'T allowed to organise, and why?

Saying you can't be LGB without affiliating with the T sounds like coercion to me. Transgender advocates need LGB rights.

And I don't know about anyone else, but all these statements from stonewall and mermaids now sound increasingly hollow. They've got absolutely nothing but coercion.

@BernardBlackMissesLangCleg When I hear "No LGB without the T", it makes me think of the Rhyme as Reason Effect - that people are more likely to believe a statement that rhymes, as opposed to "No gay people without people who identify as members of the opposite sex". Their snappy slogan is certainly easier to remember but not true. It's like an abusive relationship - "You are not going to leave me!"
