Haven't seen a thread on this yet, but if so, will delete for duplication.

JK Rowling is currently trending on twitter and she's yet again getting incredible abuse for her support for women and children.

For those less familiar with latest developments.

JK clarified this to the tweeter in question to say Juan, I'll give you a moment to think hard about leaving that up . I reported every bit of porn so-called trans allies tweeted into Twitter threads where children were sending me artwork for the Ickabog. I didnt respond or retweet it because I don't want more kids to see it.

It seems as though Juan chose not to consider or delete, and the assumption is that JK has taken action against his tweet, which has led to his retraction of his original statement.

JK ignored the abuse on twitter so that the children engaging with her Ickabog tweets weren't exposed to the pornographic material tweeted into those threads.

On 16th July I posted a tweet of JK Rowling saying “I ignore porn tweeted at children”. This was entirely misleading as I took her words out of context. I was wrong to make this defamatory and untrue allegation and apologise to JK Rowling.

But as a result of his apology, JK is now yet again subjected to online abuse - to quote Helen Saxby: twitter.com/helensaxby11/status/1436048850293297173

To use her tweet to suggest she didn't care about children is about as defamatory as you can get.

They've just announced that the TV adaptation of Troubled Blood is in pre-production, which is great news. Lethal White is still on iPlayer until Monday, if anyone here hasn't seen it yet!

Presumably she has to apply to Twitter to get the contact details of these dreadful people, in order to send them legal letters. Twitter admin must be inundated.

At some point, could Twitter be held accountable for even hosting them and doing nothing about it?

Did I recall someone saying you have to be 13 to be on Twitter? What about all the pornography on there, and the men who readily admit to being a paedophiles?

It's illegal to show pornography to minors. Twitter claiming that you can be 13 on their site, and allowing pornography on it, surely must be a conflict.

The whole 'well kids shouldn't be on Twitter anyway' as one of the ridiculous excuses as to why it's fine to post porn on a tweet of children's artwork is also a load of bollocks and a sign that none of these people have kids of their own.

Because almost all schools now have a Twitter account to show what the kids are doing at school and so, a lot of parents have twitter accounts, many solely for looking at tweets with their kids.

I guess that school in Scotland who hosted 'Flo Job' the drag queen came across the dilemma of what happens when adult content clashes with kids - when they clearly realised they could not tag Flo in their tweet about the visit, because clicking on the tag would take you from a school twitter feed to an adult NSFW one.

And I would assume that parents showing their children pictures of artwork for a children's book by a children's author would not expect to be faced with a picture of a cock in the thread.

One of the "gender critical" accusations is that "TRAs" post porn in replies to JK Rowling.

I get porn in replies all the time; clearly pornbots.

Is it possible they are equating standard pornbot replies with "trans activism"?

Okay first off, I don't 'get porn in replies all the time'. In fact I'm pretty sure I've never had porn in replies, and I've been on Twitter for nearly ten years. For most of them I tweeted several times a day. So if Comerford is getting replies from pornbots 'all the time' it's clearly a reflection on him and his content. You wouldn't expect a thread about children's artwork to attract pornbots.

Comerford carries on:

Firstly, children aren't/shouldn't be on Twitter... Their parents were using their accounts to tweet art competition entries.

So, for the porn to be tweeted "at children," it would involve the parents seeing these alleged replies on their phones and then showing these replies to their children.

Here, he's moving the responsibility away from people sending porn onto their targets. This was a thread where children created art for JK and she made nice comments about it. Isn't it very likely that the kids would want to see what JK said, and check it themselves? Also, Twitter is for 13 plus - still kids! Comerford doesn't seem to care for safeguarding at all.
