Police engagement with women survey, a chance to feedback

Enough4me · 30/07/2021 11:01

I saw this advertised on Twitter:

www.homeofficesurveys.homeoffice.gov.uk/s/HQN4MK/?s=09

There is already a post asking if a survey will be set up for males, but the point is that females struggle to find protection from males and with selfID the situation will get worse. Women are not even protected from rape in women's prisons.

I thought this may be a useful link for women to honestly share their experiences (NB. This is not a link to log an offense, but to feedback about the experience of police engagement).

It partially links with the thread about campaigning for sex as well as gender to be recorded when sexual crimes take place:

Completed and signed!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 30/07/2021 18:09

Well that was cathartic 😆😆😆

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 18:11

I have so much to say about the fucking police.

I'll do it later.

tumbletastic · 30/07/2021 18:46

Done. Ah that felt good!

FatAnkles · 30/07/2021 19:06

Done! Thank you. I don't know if anything will come of it but we have yo keep pushing for change.

Blue4YOU · 30/07/2021 19:30

Done!

Eyesofdisarray · 30/07/2021 19:42

Done

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 30/07/2021 20:12

Well, thank you for posting that.

A real palate cleanser.

Three dead women a week, week in and week out; rape is effectively legal; if I am convicted I get state sanctioned rape by a trans woman; and they want to know how they can improve services? Dunno mate, no one cares if we die in droves, been happening for 4000 years and if you haven't figured it out yet then I'm fucked if I know.

colouringindoors · 30/07/2021 20:18

pmk

Evidencebased · 30/07/2021 20:53

Thanks

Kittenss · 30/07/2021 20:57

Signed the petition. How can anyone justify sex not bring recorded for crimes?

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 21:02

I've got a million things to say on s range of topics.

My force is the met I think that says it all.

S major point for me is 'minor' sex offences like flashing being of zero interest even though it's been known for decades these men escalate.

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 21:06

Doing it.

It's poorly written.

I have had multiple experiences of men flashing etc. Only reported one.

The answers don't allow multiple options.

Humph.

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 21:06

Makes it difficult

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 21:07

Is wanking at you

Sexual violence
Or
Harrassment
?

There's no obvious category for all the creepy pervy weirdy stuff :/

That's telling isn't it.

Didn't think of it,/ not interested/ too trivial to include

Cabinfever10 · 30/07/2021 21:40

Well I doubt that they will like my response as I was brutally honest with them and the truth often hurts

NiceGerbil · 30/07/2021 23:00

I focused on not being interested in 'trivial' offences/ not linking patterns/ ignoring the fact that's been known for decades that they escalate.

That if this was sorted loads of dangerous men would be off the streets.

Sarah everard would not have been killed. Or the girl who was murdered by the bloke who had a string of convictions for sex offences.

I'm so angry.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 31/07/2021 10:39

Sexual harassment of female staff is a widespread problem in the police. Bullying of staff is routine.

Think they should put their own house in order first, really.

Enough4me · 01/08/2021 23:28

Bumping as it's important for women to have their voice on their experience of police engagement.

bruisedbutnotbeaten · 01/08/2021 23:40

Done. Nothing good to say. No faith in the police.

Enough4me · 02/08/2021 00:07

Good you have fed back. If the truth doesn't go back they will say they are fine as they are.

OP posts:
Juststopitnow · 02/08/2021 00:10

Done and I too had nothing good to say. Thanks for the link.

Enough4me · 02/08/2021 08:09

Happy to share. The feedback needs to be shared while there is an opportunity to highlight shortcomings.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 02/08/2021 12:42

bumping.

I have a huge respect for police officers individually. The system, though, is sexist.

Three dead women a week, murdered by men and rape is effectively legal and yet we don't have a huge push on sorting out male violence which really needs to have a foundation of good policing to make it work as they understand the causes of male violence because it's their bread and butter.

It's not rocket science, but if the law is not enforced then women die. Simple as that. And we are dying in droves. So, it's good this survey is being done, but, I didn't report any of my sexual assaults and I'm not sure I'd encourage my daughter or mother or friends to report if they were assaulted either. If I can't get a female forensic officer then why would I?
