"Nurses speak of their distress at being instructed to insist to their female patients that there are no men present, in the clear presence of a man identifying as a woman. Who can they turn to when their employer, union and regulator are all Stonewall Champions?"

NHS staff in Scotland will be monitored to see if they are wearing "Pride" badges.

@mustlovegin

What happens with women who require a single sex ward due to religious reasons?
No one gives a fuck about them because they've been Stonewalled 😡
BlackAlys · 13/06/2021 08:39

How can one check if local organisations are signed up to the SW diversity program?

I think it's time to start campaigning again

Have you taken a look through any FOIAs supplied as part of Sex Matters' campaign?

Aside from that, it's a pest, as sometimes places report them on their own website or just privately to someone.

Times article posted here shows almost Orwellian side to Stonewall's influence on NHS

They get "re-educated" and told that the man next to them is a woman, so be quiet.

'What happens with women who require a single sex ward due to religious reasons?'

Well if they need it when I'm the duty manager I will ensure they get it. There are a couple of options depending on individuals behaviour. Either move the transitioning patient to a single room (and if they refuse explore why they are so keen to remain in a room with other sick people instead of getting some peace) or leave them in the area and move everybody else. It depends how many beds are affected and what options you have. What I would not do is expect the woman to tolerate this. It's intolerable.

That's a sensible and balanced approach and I hope many do take it. All of this is very worrying

RoyalCorgi · 15/06/2021 09:55

Oh god, it's Gemma Stone. That's Cursed E, isn't it? Not someone who's an expert on the NHS.

Beamur · 15/06/2021 10:02

It's high on hyperbole and a bit scant on truthful representation of recent events.

rogdmum · 15/06/2021 10:04

I know I’m nit picking but that was very poorly written. As a professional, reading a piece with “crappy” and “sucks”, I’d think it was submitted by a stroppy teenager.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 15/06/2021 10:07

THIS ... article on Trans rights and the NHS has become the most commented on in HSJ's 20 year plus digital history - and also the one for which I have received most unsolicited messages of thanks

Yes, I believe so.

The promotion by respectable publications of this person as someone we should take seriously is laughable, when you see their other writing.

He's getting about the informed level of pushback that I'd have expected.

When are well-meaning people going to be willing to have an evidence-based discussion about matters that are of great importance rather than cleave to #Nodebate. I notice that respondents were notably 'more in sorrow' for Alastair's alleged level of ignorance and making kind offers rather than the typically menacing offers of compulsory re-education that women receive.

PurpleWh1teGreen · 15/06/2021 10:41

Apologies- I started typing this a while back and then got stuck on a call. I can see it been posted. Blush

RoyalCorgi · 15/06/2021 11:27

It seems likely that the HSJ didn't find anyone who worked for the NHS to defend the relationship with Stonewall. That is in itself interesting.

The response piece displays the usual level of tantrumming and name-calling that we have come to expect from TRAs.

Glinner recently published an excellent piece that shows exactly what kind of person Cursed E is:

AngeloMysterioso · 15/06/2021 12:06

Would somebody be able to screen shot? All I see when I follow the link is a blank white screen.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 15/06/2021 12:16

In a similar vein, I have had a response from Network Rail about their own membership; and their letter has made my blood boil.

In my original letter, I included plenty of evidence and footnotes about SW's conduct; and also told them how many other companies have already left, etc.
But the response I received has really pissed me off.

In the response, that I've just sent, I mentioned Allison Bailey's case and how SW have basically held a gun to the head of Garden Court Chambers, by threatening to withdraw GCC from the (worthless) championship twaddle.

Tactics that would make organised crime groups blush, cos it's like a fucking Ponzi scheme.

I genuinely need to calm down.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 15/06/2021 12:31

Bejasus. Can anyone post those CursedE screenshots in reply to their article on HSJ?

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 15/06/2021 13:09

iirc, Gemma Stone is CursedE - who was the activist who disrupted a meeting with Heather Brunskell-Evans et al at Bristol. A note about how CursedE later regretted the tactics:

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/nov/26/trans-rights-protest-gender-critical

HBE has since gone on to develop a friendship with CursedE, if I have this right - and I wonder if this has leant an imprimatur of respectability to the writing of Gemma Stone (alongside the Independent gig).

I think it was Prof Rosa Freedman who was quite pally with Cursed E for a while. I don't know if she still is.

Ah, thank you. I knew somebody was - wrong academic with strong human rights record!
