What ribbons?
I think the argument is that being a woman is a biological fact? Am I correct? And, now to state otherwise is a hate crime. Have I hit the jist? Honestly. Ffs. You couldn't make this nonsense up. Are we 'allowed' to wear these ribbons at work?
When Linda Bellos wore a suffragette colour pocket square to a (relevant) court case in which she was a defendant, the plaintiff complained of being intimidated by the colours.
Appearing in the dock, Bellos wore a suffragette-themed pocket square, although many of her supporters were made to remove similarly coloured sashes at the entrance.
One supporter in the gallery also wore a T-shirt stating the definition of a woman as an “adult human female,” leading Kendal to make an application for the symbols to be removed as contempt of court.
…
However, District Judge Richard Blake threw out the request, saying that “people are free to wear what they want.”
A supporter of Kendal, Vicky Jane, told PinkNews that… she feels that the suffragette movement is being appropriated to exclude trans women.
