She hasn't had the answer she was looking for so far (Despite her followers being mostly labour supporters)

A lot of women in the comments noting Stonewall's stance on removing sex as a protected characteristic

Dawn Butler asks: "who do you trust more: stonewall or Liz truss"?

@HoldontoOneMoreDay

Me: "ok... You are saying I should not vote with you?"

That's kinda where it all went wrong with Corbyn and Momentum, wasn't it? A purity cycle where if you weren't 100% Jezza, your vote wasn't enough.

Fuck SAKE why isn't the Labour Party learning from any of this?

Exactly!

tobee · 01/06/2021 22:34

It reminds me of Lynne Featherstone telling people they don't belong in the LibDems if they don't follow the mantra they're not welcome in the party.

How many catastrophic losses are Labour and the LibDems going to endure before the penny drops and they realise that they are on the wrong tack? I'm not holding my breath.

SpindleWhorl · 01/06/2021 22:40

It's a startling moment in history, when political parties who rely on voters' votes, and keep losing, tell voters to fuck off.

ScreamingMeMe · 01/06/2021 23:12

More calls for Rosie Duffield to be sacked and there is a petition for the whip to be removed from her "this Pride Month".

Oh Labour, you really are beyond hope.

WarOnWomen · 01/06/2021 23:36

Bloody hell. Rosie must have nerves of steel to put up with the misogynistic trolls.

Starmer needs to tell his party to back the fuck off.

Rosie Thanks

Time to send her another letter of support.

merrymouse · 01/06/2021 23:38

What is the point of this poll anyway? Dawn Butler must know that regardless of Stonewall, many people broadly support Liz Truss. The clue is the Conservative majority.

Even if this poll went the other way, those people still support Liz Truss.

All she has done is highlight that many left of Centre people don’t trust Stonewall.

Some interesting points there from one angry man who goes by the handle One Angry Man (go figure), about how everyone needs to "swallow some pride" (where's Freud when we need him?) by reinstating J.Corbyn and thus reuniting the party!

You know, I think maybe she really doesn't.

I don't think she thought the poll would go this way.

I don't think she and those in her bubble realise the extent to which people disagree with them, and are upset about it. They think it's just a few people who are alt-right and some old feminists.

They are so sure they are right they think people will eventually agree, just as they think they have with other SJ issues.

Guavafish · 02/06/2021 00:40

Stonewall

MidsomerMurmurs · 02/06/2021 05:31

@ScreamingMeMe

I learned a new (made-up) word! Heteropatriarchal.

Wow. Young people have been really fucked over by Queer Theory Sad

I assume that young woman will be against redefining same-sex attraction as “same-gender” attraction then? Against lecturing lesbians that they should be willing to have sex with people with penises? Against telling women and girls that they need to overcome their discomfort if males enter female-only spaces?

Strikes me that 2021 Stonewall is very literally heteropatriarchal (as well as homophobic and misogynistic)

Yesterday 22:40 SpindleWhorl
"It's a startling moment in history, when political parties who rely on voters' votes, and keep losing, tell voters to fuck off. '

That made me laugh, but it's true.

Off did I fuck.

MiladyBerserko · 02/06/2021 05:42

Is this the same Dawn Butler who has been treated to fully funded jollies all over the world, for 'LGBT' issues.

Crikey, she may soon be downgraded to a Silver BA Card. Oh the indignity!

ScreamingMeMe · 02/06/2021 09:27

Indeed. Comment below is from Glinner's piece in Dawn and Labour. (I know yours was a rhetorical question, but thought I would stick this info here as it's quite relevant.)

grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/labour-losing-women/comments

"Dawn went on a paid-for jolly to the GLAAD awards in LA in 2018, invited by Anthony Watson.

order-order.com/2018/05/29/dawn-butlers-14000-la-jolly-paid-for-by-blairite-guru/

And what do you know: Linda Riley and Anthony Watson were advising Dawn on LGBT issues

outnewsglobal.com/linda-riley-anthony-watson-advise-labours-dawn-butler-mp-challenges-facing-lgbt-community/ "

RoyalCorgi · 02/06/2021 09:53

It's interesting, because Twitter has expelled so many feminists that you'd be forgiven for thinking there aren't many left. And yet there are thousands and thousands of people on there who simply don't trust Stonewall.

PronounssheRa · 02/06/2021 09:55

We have the answer to 'what Dawn did next', she retweeted this. An attempt by a white, heterosexual men to strip LGB alliance of their charitable status.

Ironically:

"Dawn (verb): to become known or obvious:
Gradually the truth about him dawned.
[ + that ] It eventually dawned that he wouldn't be coming back." dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/dawn

Not to be confused with 'darn', as in "Darn it, does she still not understand?".

Thelnebriati · 02/06/2021 10:12

heteropatriarchal

What other type of patriarchy is there?

mrsborisjohnson · 02/06/2021 10:45

Over 86,000 votes now, and 70% in favour of Liz Truss!

ScreamingMeMe · 02/06/2021 11:29

That's pretty hilarious, especially given that twitter is Woke Central.

She's retweeted what looks to me like a defamatory statement.

Keir Starmer must be so, erm, proud.

dyslek · 02/06/2021 12:11

God Dawn is an embarrassment.

dyslek · 02/06/2021 12:14

How, just how is Labour not getting this?
There are brave women in Labour fighting this from within who could really do with KS help, but he just sits there, nothing to say on anything? what is he actually doing?

Thelnebriati · 02/06/2021 14:29

Dawn just retweeted this;

''One of the ways populism is eroding the rule of law is by undermining the accepted meanings of things.''
twitter.com/peterjukes/status/1399788757826609155

come on, Dawn; you are so close to getting it.

Dawn Butler asks: "who do you trust more: stonewall or Liz truss"?
merrymouse · 02/06/2021 14:33

Poll finished 69.5% for Liz Truss on 90k votes.

WarriorN · 02/06/2021 15:31

Heteropatriarchy... with some forward thinking, struggling to imagine what panpatriarchy or transpatriarchy might be...
