British Kickboxing has fallen

Well, it looks as though BKC (British Kickboxing Council) are to allow trans athletes to compete in their chosen category. There is thankfully a lot of kickback against this on their twitter feed.

Why do men hate women so much? Seriously, why.

Once again following the American lead. American transwoman MMA fighter Fallon Fox notoriously took pleasure in cracking the skull of female opponent Tamikka Brents.

Brents said she'd "never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right". Fox tweeted "I love smacking up TEFs in the cage who talk transphobic nonsense. It's bliss!"

Fox tweeted "I love smacking up TEFs in the cage who talk transphobic nonsense. It's bliss!"

Translated as he loves smacking up women and injuring them, when they have the audacity to say they don't want to be put in a position where men can assault and injure them.

What a c*.

The woman that got injured out of the sport was unaware of the history of this person, so I believe.

She didn't know Fallon was trans. It's one thing making the choice to fight against someone who has changed their gender from male to female (with all the male advantage and privilege that brings with it). It's quite another to be deceived about it, and sustain horrific personal injury as a result of that deceit.

I really don’t see how women’s sport existing in any way prevents anyone accessing sport. They talk like having to compete against men means they aren’t allowed to compete.

I think the only way to sort this shit out is for all young women and girls to ditch a potential career as an athlete for one as a politician. Then maybe the next generation of sportwomen will have a safe career.

God it's all just so fucking dreadful, isn't it.

@CuriousaboutSamphire

Oh! Well, I'll be ending back my membership and and that'll be the end of 30 years of training and teaching kickboxing based exercise classes, not competing, for me!

I have both single sex and mixed classes but have my own rules about glove work. This would make that impossible!

Or maybe I'll wait for the inevitable request... and make a fuss about it then!

OMG! I may have found the hill I am willing to die on!

My association does this and they lose me, my fees and all the commitment to peer-support I have ever put in as a participant and as a parent supporting the association.

Let's see how much the Fallon Foxes of this world put into mentoring lower grade belts, eh?

Awful, especially in light of the recent studies showing female sportswomen’s increased concussion risk. None of these organisations are fit to call themselves sporting bodies.

@toffeebutterpopcorn

Well DS just sauntered in and said that he got roped into playing baseball with the girls as there wasn’t enough girls for a team, so each team press ganged a boy.

He said that he walloped the ball harder and further than any of his teammates and managed to get the balls into the car park.

I did comment ‘I wonder why that was?’

I play official mixed softball and the women hit a smaller, lighter ball (it's changed for each player). We still hit it nowhere near as far as the men.

I wonder how insurance providers are going to respond, specifically in contact sports and how this will impact people who compete in these sports ?

Insurance companies are captured.

@Procrastinator3

Insurance companies are captured.

Surely insurance cover is still provided based on risk, no insurance company would want to pay out millions for something entirely avoidable.

The companies might say all the right things for PR, but I suspect the underwriters take a more fact based approach

So long as this isn't the kind of sport where limb length, strength, pelvic stability & q-angle make a difference it will be fine... oh wait Angry

I don't understand how these sporting bodies can throw women under the bus like this; the science is clear so this must just be religious belief.
I do blame the bastarding Olympic committee though - if they had stood firm there would have been good financial reason for sporting bodies to retain women's sport.

Suspect the risk will be dumped on to the participants. There will be a get out clause somewhere.

Here’s Mermaids trans sport inclusion officer Verity Smith (unbelievably) defending Fallon Fox. I don’t understand how you can sit there and defend that sort of injury, even if your wage does depends on it

suspect the risk will be dumped on to the paricipants

Which leads female competitors in contact sports having to ask their opponents if they were born a different sex and making a decision on whether to participate based on that answer. Otherwise it could invalidate their insurance ? So women will be the bad guys again ?

Erikrie · 11/05/2021 19:10

Well at least India kept pushing that it wasn't right for transwomen to be in women's sport.

Why do they always spout the bollocks that 'access to sport is a fundamental human right'.

No is fucking isn't, and certainly not a human right for adult makes to take part in female sports when there is NOTHING stopping them competing with their own sex.
