Does Bunbury have an orchestra?

(Also, can just anyone start a Bunbury thread or do you have to be a Weighty Feminist? Apologies if so, I will retreat tugging my forelock.)

Someone mentioned the cornet. Can I bagsy the kettle drum?

By God, with enough grim determination, there will be!

Mahler won't know what hit him!

Maybe the Symphony of a Thousand.......triangles? Heck, why not! Grin

Endo, I don’t know how you switch between the clefs! My viola playing DC also plays a treble clef instrument and it all baffles me.

On a less serious note, what if the alto clef identifies as a treble clef? Does that mean that we have to transpose in our heads and play the transposed music? Or is it enough that we affirm that we believe that the alto clef is a treble clef?

Chersfrozenface · 08/05/2021 11:21

As I child I was not an excluded trianglist, I was a compelled trianglist. I was an excluded tambourist.

Now is my time - I shall get a 10 inch traditional wooden tambourine (currently in stock in my nearest music shop) and shake and bash it like a maniac.

Percussion power!

We're going to have to list tinnitus as a known side effect of Bunburying Grin

Does anyone have an instrument handy which emits a sound like a loud raspberry? My artistic muse feels a need for one at this moment, for some reason.

Bordois · 08/05/2021 12:53

A zither?

TheWeeDonkey · 08/05/2021 12:55

My husband's arse Errol ?

I wouldn't get too close to it if I were you

Bordois · 08/05/2021 12:55

I thought a zither was the bumpy bit of wood that you ran a stick along to make a raspy sound, but it turns out to be some kind of stringed instrument.

So not a zither 😂

Get a whoopee cushion, cut off the end and put it on a kazoo.

The bumpy bit of wood thing is a guiro, I believe.

So instead I'm going to volunteer to provide the milkshakes in the interval,
If we're recruiting a frog, can it be Kermit? He's got experience with organising rag tag bunches of musicians.

Sounds as though a piece like March of the women with full choir would be appropriate with a bit of practice.

R0wantrees · 08/05/2021 21:08

Lesson 1(for brass girls and women)

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/05/2021 21:17

Vuvuzela, anyone?

They sound better en masse.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 08/05/2021 21:20

Vuvuzela, anyone?

I wondered how long it would take. Do you remember those from a few years ago?

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/05/2021 21:21

Oh yes! Like a swarm of angry giant bees Grin

[/quote] That looks a lot like hard work. I'm glad I'm on the kazoo.

It may be hard work but I think you should blow your trumpet more, Tinsel, unmuted.

Funnily enough I suggested DD call Norris McWhirter about something the other day and unsurprisingly she had no idea what I was on about.
