What is the relevance of Maya’s case to Woman’s Hour I wonder?!!

OP posts:
Novina · 30/04/2021 19:24

Good for her.

Helmetbymidnight · 30/04/2021 19:25

Shocking isn't it. They want to see which way the wind is blowing first.

BBC Women's hour "Topical conversations to inform, challenge and inspire"

Nope.

OhHolyJesus · 30/04/2021 19:27

She's on you tube now I think with Kellie Jay who also does biological woman's hour which helps with the great loss of BBC's woman's hour Hmm

yourhairiswinterfire · 30/04/2021 19:30

Maya's response to them is great!

HecatesCatsInFancyHats · 30/04/2021 19:34

Good for you Maya, underlines their irrelevance.

BettyFilous · 30/04/2021 19:40

Great response Maya. You have to wonder what the point of Woman’s Hour is these days, or the BBC increasingly. Wake up and do your job, fools!

boatyardblues · 30/04/2021 19:41

This thread reminded me to unsubscribe from the WH podcast.

Tibtom · 30/04/2021 20:39

Exclusive interview? Did they want to control the narrative when the judgement came out and prevent Maya getting her message out via other media or programs? Stop Maya responding on other news channels without the ability edit and provide approved 'balance'?

Damn well she should say NO!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 30/04/2021 20:49

Well done Maya.
Woman’s Hour are unbelievable. La la la chocolate, nothing to see here, la la la map reading.

Trixie78 · 30/04/2021 21:00

They're cowards, loved Maya's reply though.

borntobequiet · 30/04/2021 21:05

WH has been rubbish for years. I think I stopped bothering to listen in about 1999, or earlier, and always felt it had a patronising, speechifying tone.

daringdoris · 30/04/2021 21:09

The BBC really are outdoing themselves, aren't they?

R0wantrees · 30/04/2021 21:12

GreyhoundG1rl · 30/04/2021 21:15

Go, Maya! Shame on those ridiculous no marks.

Tibtom · 30/04/2021 21:21

It is not just that WH has become meaningless - it is worse than that by far. An exclusive interview would have meant she couldn't appear on the news (be it BBC, ITV or Sky) or in the Times or other newspaper. And the next day they could edit her down to minute with ten minutes of Stonewall or Mermaids saying how terrible she is. It is an attempt to silence her.

Funny how they suddenly think exclusivity is a good idea.

OhHolyJesus · 30/04/2021 21:24

The BBC seems to be stuck in the times when they were considered the number one and were cutting edge and very much about the exclusive.

There is something to be said for newsnight but WH? Really? It's embarrassing.

Mollyollydolly · 30/04/2021 21:25

Too cowardly to do it before the verdict and then wanting an exclusive. The arrogance and cowardice. They haven't a fecking clue.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 30/04/2021 21:29

Good grief.

It's just bizarre.

I mean, I know it's hugely important and I'm grateful to Maya and everyone who's taking this on, but, it's SO bizarre to see people pretend that women and sex don't matter

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 30/04/2021 21:33

Excellent response from Maya Smile

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/04/2021 21:36

Women's Hour are a joke now. The last tweet I saw from them they were discussing whether sharing bathwater was ok Hmm

Me too
Undersnatch · 30/04/2021 21:43

What a wonderful reply from Maya. She’s amazing.

FindTheTruth · 30/04/2021 21:52

best thread on Twitter this week

spongedog · 30/04/2021 21:55

So has anyone on this thread contacted/complained to the BBC about this? I am happy to do so - I think it is important to log concerns over this. I always try to do this with organisations, so that in future no-one can ever say they didnt know, they werent told, no-one complained etc.

ArabellaScott · 30/04/2021 22:08

Good response, Maya.
