I'd respect them more if they'd just flat out own it. 'We don't care about women and their needs and feelings and the women who will self discharge and be excluded; our priority is always that some female people must lose provision and suffer so that male people can take their preferred choice of all the provisions'.

I think we need some clarification of whether the party believes some males may be included in “single sex” for women and girls.

As long as the GRA exists, “single sex” is practically meaningless.

It's the interpretation of what GRA grants that is odd
Since the equality act says single sex is allowed when reasonable, then provided it was being properly applied there would be no worries about a lightweight gra process

In fact ideally gra would be no process at all because people shouldn't even need paperwork to be who they are

It would certainly be a good idea to get clarification on what this means.

But it maybe that Labour is just responding to public pressure and that has to be good surely? Isn't that kind of what we're aiming at?

I think we know what that is code for 🙄

For all women we know what that means.

It's been growing a while that female male are also IDs. The inroads into language continue.

So a couple of years back single sex meant what it said and woman man etc were contested.

The media politicians etc have changed their language to the new meaning (but only when it suits them which is telling). The general public on the whole do not know the meaning has changed.

That done, male female have been next in line for a while.

At this point I wouldn't assume that any politician meant it as bio sex.

IF this gets accepted then the clear definitions in law are stuffed.

And still the general public knows none of these changes are happening.

I have just read an article about the effects of cross sex hormones on transitioners health in which transwomen were referred to as transgender females and transmen were referred to as transmen.

In order to work out at any time in the article, which study participants were being discussed, i had to check the details of the medication prescribed in the prior paragraph. So transgender males had to mean transmen because it specified they were being given testosterone therapy.

Wasn't it ingenious of the trans movement to focus on language - make it so difficult to speak clearly and confidently about women's rights and make it taboo to clearly name men. Now nobody has a clue what any of this means, and the Labour Party are free to renege on any promises they make about women's rights.

But they can't. Not without changing the GRA. Because "sex" has a meaning in law. Hence the furore and toys out of pram by misogynists about the Lamont amendment.
