I saw that- some of the stories are awful, so bad that this stuff still goes on

These young women need feminism more than ever. Not progressive faux feminism for men but women coming together. It's good they're talking, it's a start. And 💐 for 22 year old Soma Sara for starting this.

So many awful stories. And many of these same young women will be heading for toxic universities where their boundaries will be repeatedly challenged and the ethos will be to celebrate sex work as a positive choice for them:

That's awful.

I haven't seen if there's an overlap or chasm between universities with a sex work positive ethos and those with the highest number of violent sex crimes:

Linking to a previous thread about sexual harassment and rape in schools alongside a lack of safeguarding:

Thanks Embarrasing.

So.... UK universities are failing to prevent attacks, failing to support victims of sexual assault, failing to stop harassment on campuses and THEN when a group of females meet to discuss rape at Bristol University, Men charge in and the women are punished for holding a meeting about rape without the males. FFS

call to action has to be... what? something needs to be done.

and what's worse, like Persistant has said, young women are heading for Universities where their boundaries will be attacked.

The whole thing is a prison for young women, policing of speech, policing of being able to even discuss it.

Going to garden Daffodil vs Brisol Uni
Another call to action is to write to all the schools and unis with testimonies on the website. though I wouldn't use the suggested template letter which recommends certain non feminist resources. These young women need the help of feminists from all generations and to learn their / our history. same patterns. same things happening with a new veneer.

Julie Bindell this week was talking about interviews with many women under 30 and what they're facing. worth a watch this...
